I think so, but the fact that Michaels and Taker played a role in the match along with DX in my opinion stopped what quite possibly have been MOTY with a better ending. What do you think about that?

Sorry about the typo in the header. There is no "id."

Re: Without inteference would Rock vs. HHH at Judgment 2000 have won MOTY?

No. If anything, it helped the match become better than it actually was. No disrespect to Triple H or Rock, but I've seen this match like 5 times and I find it to be a solid 3.5 stars match. Nothing spectacular about it. It added to the match when all of DX interfered, HBK who was the ref, was knocked down. Undertaker returned and humbled all DX members, and then HBK giving Triple H the last fall, thus making him the champion. But that's just my opinion.

It already is MOTY and the best Ironman of all time. All-time memorable classic match. The match won MOTY in PWTorch BTW so I don't get from where this indication when the "awards" are nothing more than opinion besides a few categories. The interference were fine but it should have been Rock going over clean 6-5, still, The Rock/HHH match is the definition of how you wrestle 60 minutes with the crowd into every minute.

Top 5 2000 probably:
1. Rock/HHH JD, Rock/HHH Backlash, Rock/Benoit FL, 6 man HIAC AM and Foley/HHH Rumble.

man what a year 2000 was for ppv, strictly ppv speaking it probably was the best year of the attitude era even though i prefer 97-99

i mean from rumble 2000-summmer of 2000 was almost solid all the way, great main events, well until KOTR

Don't forget that Shawn was the guest ref and rocking the short shorts. It has to be seen.

It was a very good match, I completely agree. Best of the year? Hard to say, definitely in contention. I still like the Backlash 2000 match better, personally. The Triangle Ladder match at WM2000 redefined the possibilities for ladder matches to come. TLC at Summerslam. Jericho and Triple H from Fully Loaded. Of course, all the others you've mentioned already.

Damn, those were the days. Look at how stacked that roster was and look at the garbage we have to put up with today. Crying shame.

^ don't forget hhh/foley street fight, even there HITC was overlooked because of the street fight

early to mid 2000 might be the best string of ppvs ever, or close, i mean look at the main events

hhh/foley street fight
hhh/foley HITC
fatal four way wm2000
rock/hhh backlash
iron man match

those 5 big time main events, with 4 of them delivering great matches, you had the "big feel" and the matches lived up

Agreed, This is top 5 MOTY of 00's era. Rock should've won if Taker didn't get caught tombstones HHH, HBK saw it that's why HHH won. KOTR 00 it'll be fatal 4-way Rock/HHH/Taker/Kane

It probably would of been in the top 3 matches of the year.
I would have hhh/cactus and hhh/jericho ahead of it slightly.
But I hold them in high regard as 5 stars matches for me though rock/hhh is **** 3/4

No, because HHH vs Foley: Streetfight and HHH vs Jericho: last man standing would still kick it's ass.
In my opinion it's not even match of the night. Jericho vs Benoit was better

No it wasn't MOTY wasn't even MOTY for wwe, HHH vs Foley in a Streetfight was way ahead of any other wwe match that year. 11 pin falls in a match is just to many,Chris Benoit vs HHH on raw in 2004 had 7 and i even thought that was to many, it was a very good match just not the best, top 3 in wwe for sure.

I would say that Rock/Triple H was easily the best feud of the year in 2000 and i've always ranked it as the best feud either man has ever had in their careers ahead of both men's feuds with Stone Cold Steve Austin, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, The Undertaker or Triple H feuding with Shawn Michaels. Both men had great chemistry with each other which was a result of them working with each other every single year since 1997 from the mid card through to the Intercontinental title and then as the top contenders through to the actual top feud and main event over the WWE title.

That being said though their match at Judgement Day wasn't even the best match they had that year with each other during that feud let alone the best of the year as i will always rank their match at Backlash as a better match. As far as the best matches of the year go though Edge and Christian/The Hardys/The Dudley Boys at WrestleMania 16 and Summerslam, Cactus Jack/Triple H at The Royal Rumble and No Way Out, Triple H/Jericho at Fully Loaded, Benoit/Jericho also at Judgement Day and the six man Hell In A Cell were all better matches in my personal opinion and Rock/Triple H at Judgement Day was made much better because of Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker and D-Generation X all being involved in the match.

No it's not. The match was 60 minutes, besides Shawn who wasn't a factor and Taker's nice surprise, they were there a total of 30 seconds and did some stupid DQ finish in that time. Rock/HHH was MOTY because of their performance and excellent work in delivering the 60 minutes stipulation with innovative pinfalls, drama and crowd heat for the entire match.

Don't forget that Shawn was the guest ref and rocking the short shorts. It has to be seen.

No doubt, very hard to do a top 5 from this time period with all the classic matches month after month. Besides my top 5, TLC 1 at Summerslam is definitely up there, I forgot about it.
