If they can make some time for a Ryback squash match and a Divas Championship match without any build on almost all the PPVs, I dont think why they cant make this happen. They can do this in the pre-shows if not on the main card.

Putting this title on the line on a big PPV will not only make the title more meaningful but also give the champion some exposure. Thoughts?

I reckon it wouldn't be a terrible idea to have NXT title matches as the pre-show matches for the WWE youtube channel. Thought with that said, this won't be happening...

It would be good but it won't happen.

I don't think that it would be a good idea. Defending the title on PPVs would establish that NXT is another "brand" in the WWE that isn't RAW or Smackdown and WWE obviously doesn't want that. We all saw what happened with the ECW championship as the third world title. Besides, I like how there is a show that doesn't defend the title on PPVs. That was one of the entertaining things about watching FCW.

WWE barley have IC, US, Tag or Divas title on a PPV, nevermind NXT Championship. Best you could hope for in the near furute would be Superstars, PPV Pre-Show or when WWE need to pad out a 3 hour Raw.

I think a good idea would maybe have the NXT title defended on preshows of PPV's which gives a chance for up and coming talent to showcase their skill on a bigger level and get noticed. Since the preshow is just really used as a last min build and hype for the PPV it shouldnt hurt buyrates + it could really help the NXT talent get themselves noticed who ever they would put on.

But I highly doubt this would ever happen.

NXT is a side project, so it's really best for everyone if they keep all NXT related stuff away from PPV's which is all micro-managed by the WWE higher-ups, where as NXT is a little more free for everyone involved. It's a system which helps the talent to flourish without the pressure of crossing somebody important backstage because they didn't follow their directions to the point.

Preshows on YouTube.

That way, at least, they show that they care about the future and that they are serious with pushing young guys.

It'd be a bad idea. These guys aren't quite ready for prime time yet so having them be featured on PPVs won't go down well. Just look at the way the crowd treat matches like Primo & Epico vs. Prime Time Players from MITB.

If they do Steamboat vs. Kruger (for example) on PPV and it plays out to silence or boring chants, it'll do way more harm than good for the NXT roster.

I'd love to see the NXT title be the pre show match before every PPV, would be a great way to introduce the talent further. It would make the title mean more and would also be great way to make not only the champion on the show look important but also give a little bit of extra importance on being the number one contender. Not only do they get a shot at the title but the title match is on a PPV pre show in front of a full arena.

It wouldn't make a lot of sense really. NXT is WWE's developmental brand now so them being on PPV wouldn't make sense. If you can get on a PPV then what the hell are you doing on NXT? Plus the fans at PPV's don't really know the guys and characters or anything so what you put the championship on the line in a match with general indifference would really harm their confidence.

Agreed. The only way that the NXT Title being on PPV would make any sense was if they gave the belt to guys who are already on the main roster. The problem is it would be a step down for them (McGillicutty, Reks, Slater, Gabriel and Riley have all already been FCW Champion a long time ago, so what's the point), and it would make the developmental guys look like an afterthought if they kept putting the belt on main roster guys just to put the belt on PPV.
