Crowds still cheer passionately for him but they don't seem to understand the situation. Punk wasn't fired. He waked out on the company AND the fans during the most important time of the year for WWE WHILE still under contract. It's not like he was unjustly fired and the fans are cheering to get him back. CM Punk doesn't give a damn and yet people chant for him as if it'll do anything.

I don't believe he has yet to even address his fans since leaving. He doesn't care and the chants supporting are just embarrassing.

Well since it happened less than 2 months ago, vince only telling everyone he is on 'sabbatical', and he has a rabid following I'd say it will go on for at least another 4 - 6 months before people stop cheering it as often as they do. Besides, even if a guy walks out and his fans want him back that's not embarrassing. It simply shows how much he was appreciated by fans and missed.

The fine details and the exact specifics are irrelevant and none of us know them. I'm not implying I know exactly what went down, but what we do know is that he walked out on the fans yet they still cheer him.

People didn't care when Stone Cold did it and WWE even had people acknowledge it and trash him in promos. Wrestlers leaving doesn't necessarily mean they're walking out on fans. They're walking out on a company. Fans don't depend on wrestlers for money and financial stability, it's just entertainment for us. Given the nature of the business it's really silly in my opinion when fans feel like wrestlers owe them something.

Besides that CM Punk's gimmick was pretty in line with his real persona so it's easy for people to see it as him taking a stand against something he feels doesn't make sense.

It's not going to stop people from supporting (chanting for) CM Punk. As far as we can tell. Punk walked on the WWE because he didn't like the way things were going. In essence, it's the WWE's fault that Punk left. So yes, we all know WWE didn't fire him. The point is, as far as we can tell, Punk was wronged and the fans are telling WWE that they should be trying to get Punk back.

Getting real sick of people saying that the fans don't understand the situation. When it's you people who don't understand what the fans are doing.

I think if anything Punk appreciates the fans more than anyone considering they still care about him. The fact that you think he hasn't come out and addressed the fans because he simply doesn't care is ridiculous. He probably hasn't come out and said anything because Vince or Hunter asked him not to, Punk loves the business regardless of the way he walked out and I simply think he respects Vince and Hunter far too much to disrespect them and go against their trust.

On a serious note, do you honestly believe most wrestlers, musicians, actors, celebrities, athletes etc. actually care about the regular joes of society? The only reason the majority of them "care" is because more fan support usually = more money/getting ahead in that line of work. Besides that, most don't.

Being a fan of somebody does not mean we expect them to leave us personal letters under our pillows explaining their life actions.
