It's true; the rumors are based on what Edge himself said.

- In 2010, he said that it's getting harder to return from injuries and that he only has 2 years left.

- Last month, he said that he's already thinking about things he wants to do after wrestling - he mentioned mountain climbing.

- At a recent house show in Canada, he made a speech saying "I don't think I have much more of these visits left in me ... I'd love to end my career here. Maybe if Mania' is here."

I don't want him to go though.

I think this year will be his final "active" year, and he'll retire next year. I'm not sure if it'll be at WrestleMania because Undertaker could be retiring next year, and both Edge and Taker retiring on the same night isn't likely IMO.

Seems to have his heart set on retiring in Toronto, so if, one year from now, Toronto gets WM 29, I could see him letting his contract run out in spring 2012, take a summer vacation and then come back for one last six-month run or something to retire at Wrestlemania XXIX in Toronto. But that is certainly the absolute outlier for how long he could go, at all. And even then he'd have to become a part-timer in his last year to make it, I suspect.

By then he should be a twenty-seven time world champion or so.

His first PPV was SummerSlam, wasn't it? It's the second biggest night of the year; could retire there. I mean, they'd have to break their Staples Center streak and take it to Canada to make it a big enough deal to justify his retirement happening there, but it could be done.

Then again, if they want Undertaker to retire putting someone over, they could retire him at Survivor Series 2011 instead since he's in such bad shape, and have him take the PPV with him as they're trying to get rid of it. He'd get to lose, and be officially gone from the active roster with a send off and everything. You plant the seeds with someone badmouthing his send off or somehow disrespecting him, then have him make a big one night only triumphant return at WrestleMania to go 20-0.

If they want to do it right without having a double retirement, they could easily make WM 28 Edge's retirement night and have Undertaker as a one night only attraction. Sure, it'd be a shame not to have Edge go out in Canada, but WM is big enough either way and, if he's on SmackDown at the time, they could feasibly do a special, live, post-WM SmackDown or something in Canada so he does get to say his goodbyes there.

They certainly will not have Edge and Undertaker retire on the same night. It would be a disservice (and dishonor) to both men. But especially Undertaker. And especially Undertaker if it's a Wrestlemania that sees him retire.

It is funny, though, how every Wrestlemania must have at least one retirement at it now.

WM 24: Flair
WM 25: JBL
WM 26: HBK
WM 27: Lawler (I'll just pencil that in)
WM 28: Undertaker (?)
WM 29: Edge (??)
WM 30: HHH (?!)
