I'd rather see him break the RR elimination record then gets eliminated by #30 entrant The Rock to set up a match between the two at Mania.
What about The Big Show?

I think Brock should break it regardless whether he wins or not. He's on a completely different level than the rest of the field, so why wouldn't he chuck out half of the competitors?

If he wins, then of course he wins. it's fucking Brock Lesnar. This whole situation could easily emulate the 2001 Royal Rumble with Kane & Austin. If he were to go on a tear only to get eliminated last, it'd make the winner look like a megastar depending on how it happens. Take multiple finishers, some chair/cane shots just to portray Brock as the beast he is plus the tenacity of however eliminates him and ultimately wins the Rumble.

I doubt he will simply because if he's in it, he'll probably be a very late entrant, he won't have the time to break it

If it's to hype the rematch, it would probably be a better idea to have Brock tie Roman's record, that way they both go into the rematch looking like equals.

Brock broke Taker's streak and Roman has the Survivor Series record for eliminating the most guys in one SS match, but together Brock and Roman hold the Royal Rumble elimination record.

Brock's a part-timer, and he's already over as a fuck. They don't need to waste any extra accolades on him. :trips10 That being said, I'm not sure if they will have him break the record, but I'm leaning towards no.
