Why wouldn't Sting join WWE?

To some fans it'd seem like an honor for Sting to never work for WWE and be a huge success, but for Sting what's the point of not working for WWE? I'm sure all of Stings wrestling friends have all worked/work for WWE. Sting worked for different wrestling companies before. Sting was working for Bischoff/Russo in WCW and then again in TNA. How could Vince be any worse than them in the eyes of a wrestler? Also WWE is a huge part of why wrestling is popular today and partly why wrestlers can get so much money. I don't know if there is a grudge between Vince and Sting but I doubt it. So honestly why wouldn't Sting join WWE?

Sorry if this is a pointless thread but I feel like there is no reason for Sting not to join WWE and thinking about all the people that disliked WWE but ended up there it'd be crazy if Sting was never in WWE. Also Sting vs Taker is something that could happen once in a lifetime, it'd be a huge moment. It'd also go well if there is a WCW theme HOF, since Booker T and Diesel are back in WWE.

Basicly if Vince is activly trying to get Sting I can't think of any reason why Sting would say no to a Undertaker vs Sting match at Wrestlemania. It is so big it doesn't matter what banner they are fighting under or who owns the company, the match would be our generations closest thing to the excitment of Hogan vs Andre. Atleast for me, someone who watched wrestling throughout the 90s. The match would be a great gift for the fans.

Because he's 51, and probably unwilling to meet demand WWE put on it's superstars when it comes to traveling. TNA, while Busch League, offered a level of stabilty as far as traveling goes.

Also, Sting is a bit dellusional, wanting to be known as the biggest star NOT to wrestle for Vince. 20 years from now..... be prepared for "Sting who.. the Singer" when you ask the next generation who Sting is. Let us not forget, Vince owns ALL the WCW footage of him, and I can't name one wrestler, who out right boycotted WWE, who ended up getting honored by Vince? Sting doesn't come in, no WWE HOF, no DVD released, no Biography... his name will be forgotten decaded from now... the winner writes history, and vince is the winner

I'd love to see that match but at the end of the day they are old and their knees are fucked, ive seen alot of people on here pro for the idea of seeing undertake vs sting at mania but at the end of the day it should have happened ten years ago. I just feel that now the match wouldnt be as good as it could have been due to the fact that they are both coming to the end of their careers. They are two of the greatest wrestlers of all time......but i think now that they should leave wrestling so that they dont taint thier legacies. The whole thing is is that people are gonna be dissapointed if he doesnt come but at the end of the day the WWE never said that it was gonna be Sting, people made assumptions from the videos on RAW and built it up to a point where if it isnt Sting they will be dissapointed......On another theroy instead of Sting wrestling maybe he becomes the guest host at wrestlemania, its probably not the Rock as I read that he only wanted to do a RAW show.............WWE have to do something bout RAW and the way that they are buliding to maina and Vince needs to have a match that people will want to see. At the moment i dont think he has that. Sorry for the long post but at the end of the day thats my opnion, RAW is getting stale and more childish as the weeks progress something needs to change before its to late.

Theres one major factor on why he wouldn't join the WWE. He said he'd never would and he might not want to look like he's selling out. I don't think he would be selling out, I'd love for him to join but he might think he's selling out.

Right. Going off of what D-Gold Standard said, the issue for Sting was how he would be used in WWE. That is why he didn't make the jump over to WWE during the Invasion angle, or even after it, as so many of the other ex-WCW guys did. That is really where Sting had given sound reasoning for why he didn't join WWE.

One would have to imagine that if Sting were to sign a deal with WWE, he would have reasonable creative control, as well as having the option of working just a Wrestlemania program. So I think that with how close Wrestlemania is, and for Sting's career surely coming to an end soon, he would be used "properly" by WWE.

I know Kevin Nash had an interview on Sirius radio a few days ago where the topic of Sting was brought up and he said that he hasn't spoken to Sting at all recently and doesn't know anything about any talks with WWE. However, he said that the last time he and Sting had spoken about WWE, Nash told him that he needs to try one run in WWE before he hangs it up. He said Sting needs to experience what it is like to be in a company that really knows what they are doing and everything is executed at a top notch level. He also said that Sting not only owes it to himself to have one run in WWE, but owes it to his fans. Take that for what its worth.

Also...I would like to say that I think the most telling piece surrounding this whole Sting to WWE thing, is that Sting has been SILENT about this all. NJ88 made the great point in the 2-21-11 thread and I found it very interesting because Sting really seems like someone who cares about his fans. I doubt that with the obvious parellels that could be drawn between the first 2-21-11 promo and the Sting character, that Sting would not want to set the record straight and disappoint his fans. Furthermore, if Sting really is "so against WWE" which I am not so sure he is, wouldn't he want to call out that WWE is walking a thin line of showing a promo that many would associate with the Sting character?

I think time can heal everything. Sting could have said those things at the moment and felt it, but now years later things could be different. Also wrestlers who were in WCW that got good treatment who I can think of off the top of my head are Chris Jerhico, Rey Mysterio, and Big Show.

I just can't think of reasons why he wouldn't join WWE if Vince offered it to him. I think just one match at Wrestlemania vs Undertaker would be enough.

Has Sting said anything recently about WWE?
