Seems strange at a time Bischoff was signing anybody with the slightest bit of name value. Actually, it seems strange WCW waited two years to sign him.

On topic though and i have no idea why WCW saw money in Goldberg/Sid because it was always going to be horrible as neither man could work in the ring, Sid Vicious played a great crazy heel but was average on the mic whilst Goldberg was horrible and there were better options for both men available. Sid Vicious was at his best when working with someone who was believable in against big men but could work in the ring like Sting or Shawn Michaels whilst Goldberg needed to have matches limited to ten minutes maximum because he couldn't work for longer as shown in WWE.

And trhat is the reason why some people don't get to book matches. Because some people just want "good wrestling matches", and that is why we sometimes get Lance Storm vs Al Snow matches, which by wrestling standards could be very good matches, but would not draw shit.

Goldberg did draw, same with Sid to a certain extent, and fans like the perception of two monsters fighting each others, despite the match might suck.

The thing is, Bret was going to be coming back after his brothers death, so he was going to be mad over. Feuding with Sting would have been good. Sting couldve turned heel on Bret after what Bret did to him the year before. Or they could have done face vs face.

Sid/Goldberg was a great match at Halloween Havoc 99, they brought some great intensity to their feud. It should have lasted longer than it did. There I quit match was way to short but was on its way to being good.

Always liked Sycho Sid. Most fans wanted him 2 win WWF title off HBK & I watched him Vs Hogan WM 8. His interview was awesome with I RULED THE WORLD. He's beaten Bret Hart twice especially after he won fatal 4-way, he dropped it next night on RAW.

He wasn't fired. He had problems with his back and kinda drifted out because of it. I do recall Sid having issues with JR over healing time and surgery.

Almost two years anyway, his WWF toy contract (Or something) extended into 1998.

Sid circa 96/97 was absolutely fantastic, but it's a shame he failed that drugs test and what not and didn't have a bigger run as "Sid Justice" with WWF from '92 onwards, or he would have gone onto become one of best heels of that particular decade. Imagine him in a feud with Bret or Luger in 1993 and 1994. It would have been golden IMO.

Sid was fired, because the entire WWF locker room, as well as corporate and every last person involved was jealous of his good looks and badass voice. This has been confirmed by millions of people.

While he wasn't the best wrestler (I don't think he's bad at all), his promos are just legendary. Everything he did between Royal Rumble 92 and Wrestlemania VIII is just gold. Some of the funniest promos I have ever seen. SID JUSTICE FOR LIFE.

I did some research and it turns out it was a contract dispute of sorts. In one of his shoots, he talks about being injured (allegedly from a car accident) and WWF not paying for it or something like that.

Supposedly, he also kept throwing fits over having to do jobs. On a RAW not long after WM XIII, he did a clean job to Undertaker in a rematch and he basically had to be threatened with being fired if he didn't do it.
