It shows some more pics. He didn't have the vest on in the ring, so it looks like he didn't wrestle w/ it on. Or maybe he took it off after the match. Either way, w/o the vest, he rocks the tights and gloves look. It honestly looks good. Oh and to clarify, no ****.

As to his NXT gear, his NXT gear was suited for a face. It was very bright and colorful. Not really something suited for him and now.

 

It's basically tights, so he will adopt the shawn michaels/ Chris Jericho style. I like that, stand out more that way and adds variety in the top of the card.

 

Not a fan of the abs shirt or the wife beater, but actually like the jeans and weird tights. Unique but not too stupid, shows off Ambrose's crazy man character.

 

Without the shirt the new attire looks good. Lol at Ambrose and Rollins having better physiques than the powerhouse of the shield.

 

I agree that rollins has a beter physique than reigns but ambrose a better physique than reigns? i don't think so

What you describe is not a stupid consideration. Trunks are the absolute bare-bones starting point for a costume, and when a person wears more than that for a long time, that look becomes part of their trademark.

To abandon that trademark and return to what you seem to view as a kind of "purity" would also completely return the character to square one in terms of his visual design (except his hair and beard).
In design, you should always build on, rather than destroying, what came before, and this is a case where that is possible.
