If you're speaking from a kayfayabe point of view, which it doesn't seem like you are, then the WWE wants what it's fans want, which is for Vickie to lose her job because from the crowds point of view she is a 'bad guy' and has tried to screw the 'good guy' Edge out of the title over and over. So from a business perspective it's better to fire her, for the sake of your champion.
