Heading into a PPV or during it, Jim Ross / Michael Cole would plug their sponsor for the month "(Insert PPV name here) is brought to you by (Insert new movie, video game, candy bar, food chain, motor oil, etc.)

On the DVD version of the show, none of that is there. Completely removed from the Vs. screens as well as the 30 second mention during the broadcast.

Why is that? I always wondered.

They most likely only have to contractually fulfill certain criteria for their sponsors, so they don't have any need to clutter their DVDs with ads.

Yeah the sponsors are usually for the Live broadcast with whichever cable company while the DVD production is handled by a supplier who often have no affiliation with those sponsors especially the payments.

Simple reason. They remove the sponsor from the DVD version because the sponsor only paid to sponsor the PPV itself, and not the home video version of the same program. Had they, it would have been left in there.
