...that have never won a match ever? Are the wrestlers so stupid that the suplex that hasn't beaten anyone in their career is going to win them the match?

I hate matches with constant pin covers. Especially in supposedly personal feuds.

Wrestlers who go for loads of pins just lack the talent and charisma to fill the time between moves.

Yeah, they're overused. You see guys going for pins after a fucking armdrag and it just looks dumb.
I dont mind it in a technical wrestling match. But when the big bad heel like kevin owens is going for 30 pins a match vs people he supposedly hates then yeh...it just makes no sense to me.

I just think people go for alot of pins because its an easy way to hold the crowd.

If we're talking kayfabe then it's a good idea to go for pins, it tires out your opponent

So if your in a fight and the dude is laid out on the floor. Instead of kicking or punching him...you lie on him? Makes no sense. Them kicking out isn't going to tire them out lol. Kicking them is going to tire them out.

A wrestling match isn't a fight. It's a wrestling match... where you win by pinning somebody. That is a terrible analogy.

I do agree they should cut down on regular pin attempts during matches. Go for rollups and schoolboys instead to make it look realistic if someone "steals" a match. But only go for outright pins after signature/finishing moves and high impact or high risk moves.

Cole makes it worse. Trying to claim the match is going to end after some random move. Its boring and sad. And it is a reason why everyone stopped watching wrestling because it is insulting to the intelligence on so many levels. Fine if they want to do whatever. But dont have some idiot on commentary yelling "That has to be it!" after some pathetic move. JR would do it either subtly or after something like a chair shot to the head.

Wrestlers go for pins because that is how they WIN the bout. They go for so many pins because within the context of a pro wrestling match the person being pinned has to exert energy to kick out of the pin.

The fact that this is even a thread is even more proof that good old fashioned "wrestling psychology" is quickly being replaced by video game movesets that elicit "this is awesome" chants.

They used to call it main event style in the WWE. Might as well call it indy style now. Sad

I'm indifferent towards it as long as it doesn't start happening all too frequently. Your aim as a wrestler shouldn't be to make your opponent lose a minuscule amount of energy for a sloppy 1 count, your aim should be to beat the shit out of your opponent and try to pin him like it's over- something Lesnar does and which in turn makes every kick-out look badass and the match more engrossing.

Did the op use legit brawling to back up his argument on a professional wrestling forum? As in fake fighting? Pinning is done in legit wrestling to to either A win, or B exert energy. If your complaint is with the brawler type wrestlers going for pins, then yes early minutes of the match doesn't make sense however in the later stages of the contest it does

What the first poster said, it's exactly why they do it.. I believe JR has stated that during matches before, you know the match won't end but it takes some energy out of the opponent to kick out.

Well I actually dont give a shit as to what makes sense. I care more about the fact it ruins matches. Taker and lesnar are great workers vs each other because taker doesnt do a clothesline and go for a 2 count on brock. It is fail wrestling that people with no charisma use because they dont know what else to do between their moves (see ziggler and zayn for example)
