Apparently he is a way better commentator than pro wrestler, and suffered from neck injuries.

He was boring and not too good in the ring, and his wide extension of vocabulary would be better used as a commentator, he's perfect for the position.

It was pretty much the only way he could avoid being released. He found his true calling and stuck with it.

After his 1st 3 years in the WWE it was obvious there was not alot they could do with him. His personality in his vignettes on WWE.com made them give him a try at announcing and he was awesome.

Not heard anything about any neck problems though?

Striker is where he should be.

He was GODLY on the mic, got massive heat as a wrestler...but man was he a bore to watch wrestle.

Kinda like Wade Barrett....just much smaller.

He probably wouldn't be in the WWE right now if he was still wrestling. There really wasn't a lot to do with that character.

He can use his great mic skills and huge vocabulary better as a commentator. Like Gorilla Monsoon.

He was so great as an announcer that you'd forget that he used to be a wrestler unless Ventura or Heenan made reference to it.

It was either "retire" and commentate, or be sent to the future endeavour line. He used his brain and chose commentary. Same path as Josh Mathews.

I thought he was a good wrestler, like him as a commentator to though.
