Why Corey Graves Will Not Get Over

The answer is simple. His gimmick is so dated, it should be banned from wrestling. We've seen the bitter, disrespectful, "I deserve this because I'm that damn good" kind of heel so many times. We saw it with CM Punk, we saw it with Bret Hart, we saw it with Miz, we saw it with Chris Jericho, hell we even saw it with Stone Cold. The difference is at least they all brought something unique to the table. Corey Graves is not unique, he's very generic, his look is too similar to CM Punk and the gimmick similarities do not help. I usually hate this argument but this is 2014 and we have seen this too many times to care. If he keeps that gimmick he will be in developmental longer than Leo Kruger

I am not a huge Graves supporter, but I feel like people saying he is similar to CM Punk have only ever seen pictures of him. The most basic difference is that while Punk is straight edge Graves is a master hedonist. He's way scummier than Punk. I don't really see too much similarity beyond the tattoos and their size (and on that topic Graves has been looking bigger lately).

Weird how he's not on Takeover though to blow off the Zayn feud - he must be injured?

He should have a Justin Beiber gimmick. I mean that seriously. He should act like a spoiled, entitled, reckless brat because girls think he's pretty. He already has the hair, or close enough. The denim vests. The slim build and tattoos. Give him a snap back and some sunglasses and he's good to go. I think the gimmick would attract a lot of heat. Similar to when Batista was doing the Kanye schtick..

I apologize for the picture of Justin.

Graves is nothing like Beiber. He already plays a great scumbag character and doesn't need to change anything. TBH I'd consider calling him up right now as Summer Rae's new boyfriend to feud with Fandango. He could dump her straight after the program with Fandango, it would be a nice way to introduce him as a sleazebag.
