Question - what exactly do you get out of watching other people bleed?
One question for the OP...what sport do you watch on ESPN that doesn't stop for blood besides football. Basketball and baseball most certainly do stop the game when someone bleeds.I understand that they don't allow wrestlers to blade anymore because of safety hazards, and that it's a PG show. But when someone accidentally bleeds profusely, why are they afraid to show it on TV most of the time? When someone bleeds in a real sport, ESPN doesn't hesitate to show it - and plenty of kids watch ESPN. What makes WWE so different?
But they don't let them play on. If you bleed in hockey you need to leave the ice. If you bleed in basketball you need to leave the court. You can't just tag in another wrestler to take the bleeding guy's place.Hockey fights almost always draw blood - and ESPN loves showing them in their highlights. I also remember a UNC basketball game a few years ago where Tyler Hansbrough got a wicked elbow to the face and his nose started bleeding like crazy. And they showed close-ups of the injury multiple times.
