Why are so many wrestlers leaving to AEW?

It seems predictable now that once a wrestler leaves WWE, they will jump ship to AEW. Is it because of money? Management? Less toxic environment?

Less toxic environment? My god no, lol.

When a wrestler leaves WWE, why would they not go to AEW? The owner is a mark billionaire who will pay these guys 5x as much money as they're worth, more than anybody would ever pay these guys in their life, and it's the only other wrestling company on national television.

Because there’s a money mark with seemingly unlimited amounts of money and has no shareholders to answer to, and with TKO being a public company they will not overpay someone like Edge as an example, who is over the hill at this point, already a WWE hall of famer, so Edge is being a smart businessman and taking the mark’s bag of money

Jade Cargill is an example of an up and coming talent with huge ambition which the money mark even admitted he offered her well above her asking price but Jade would rather be in the big leagues, as in the long run she will end up being much more famous and have bigger name value than if she stayed in a bush league promotion

I’m curious to see what will happen with MJF because you know the clown money mark will pay him way more than WWE will offer without a doubt

Why?

Initially at least I think for the same reasons fans tuned in.

It was something new and exciting with ambition and a ton of money backing it.

In both cases the new toy syndrome has started to wear off. The majority of WWE wrestlers going there are because WWE is happy to let them go or already has.

It is leveling out and now we are seeing the pendulum swing the other way. It should get to a healthy point of back and forth but AEW has a long way to go before it's poaching top WWE stars in their prime. That still works for AEW though for where it's at.

WWE will always have new stars in the making because that's the machine they run. Some top stars will inevitably get bored or surplus to requirements and end up with AEW. Financially it's the number one option.

Because despite what all the kool aid drinker's think, wrestling does exist outside of WWE. Maybe they want to wrestle in Japan instead of doing cringe worthy stuff with Miz or Rollins.
