The Briscoe Brothers

The Kings of Wrestling

Both teams have played major roles in the indies, especially in ROH. Both have two of longest ROH tag team championship reign in the company's history.

But yeah, who do you guys think are better overall?

Something of an apples and oranges question for me. I'd say the Kings are/were better wrestlers from a technical standpoint but my inner spot-monkey fan tends to prefer watching Briscoes matches. Both teams are fantastic in their own right though.

I think I have the minority opinion, but I liked the Kings far better as singles wrestlers than as tag guys. Most of their hyped tags were drawn out, plodding and used heel tactics that just made their babyface opponents look like idiots. Meanwhile in singles, the guys almost always put on impressive stuff. Even after the ROH reunion, I felt Hero was significantly more fun in singles.

Meanwhile I almost always prefer the Briscoes in tags. They've had their slumps and mindless periods, but they pretty much always compliment each other in-ring. If you did a Top 100 Briscoes Matches, at least 90 of them would be tags together.

the Briscoes had like two and a half years where they didn't suck, but they've also had like six years where they've sucked horrifically. the Kings are probably better as singles wrestlers, but they weren't as bad as the post-07 Briscoes as a team.

The Kings were two singles guys before becoming a tag team. Yeah, they were awesome but The Briscoes were tailor made to be a tag team. Both guys have done singles but they ARE a tag team. That is what they do. It's hard to say who is better but I'd have to go with The Briscoes. I consider them to be the best tag team in the world right now. The Kings aren't even together anymore.

Briscoes in 07 were seriously awesome, and definitely the best team in the world at that time. For the last 3 years or so though they've been really dull to watch.

KOW were always good as a tag team, but their 2010/11 reign was just awesome in every way.

So I'd say KOW.

Well I was never a big fan of Chris "34939048239489048 Elbows a match sprinkled in with yelling and a random Lucha move" Hero so by that alone I'd go with the Briscoes. Immaturity aside, The body of work that they amassed over the past 10 years across a wide range promotions has been incredible. KOW's original CZW run was good I'll admit but their 2nd run going over every tag team in sight not named WGTT was blah for me.

That was such a good tag title reign. Easily the best thing to happen in ROH in the last 3 or so years in terms of belts. What did you want to happen? They were made to be the most dominant team in wrestling, it was booked really well with the exception of WGTT going over them. That turned out to be such a bad idea.

Yeah, they were dominant but in the way that made them ridiculously predictable and exposed. They didn't defend the straps a lot and even then 90% of all their matches were extended squashes and you never believed for one second that anyone had a chance to beat them and the way they structured their matches never made you think otherwise. I can't think of one tag team that benefitted from their reign other than WGTT and mind you this is back when ROH's tag team division was stacked to the brim with both future prospects and established tag teams. Their push just felt so out of nowhere and forced to me. I don't blame you for liking their reign I'm" just saying it wasn't my cup of tea.

Wait, is this guy seriously?

Btw, 3/3 of the teams you linked are nothing more than spot monkey's.

Although I'd argue that outside of PWG the SSB can put on a match with actual psychology.

RockNES and the Bucks are a classic "get my shit in" kind of wrestlers (which makes sense because that is all PWG is about, all moves, 0 psychology)

The Briscoes have amazing wrestling and great psychology. The RockNES have been in PWG too long and are too accustomed to that type of spot monkey style.

Fair play. We'll have to agree to disagree then.

But it WAS awesome :D.

Kings of Wrestling, I enjoy their character and gimmick more. Seems like they can add a lot more psychology to their bouts. Briscoes were too spotty for me, though they have had good stuff which is bound to happen after having so many tag matches.

Well you'll have to excuse me but I don't get the mass amount of praise for PWG.

I see people all the time say "ROH has too many moves, false finishes and kickouts" but they're a fan of PWG, which is even worse.

Hell PWG you get it in the opening matches. I just don't get the hypocrisy from PWG fans towards ROH fans.

PWG is wrestling porn basically, no story, no psychology, just moves. Complain about Davey vs Eddie all you want, but they had a coherent story arc to go along with it.

In ring i like The Kings match over The Briscoes one

In charisma and promos i think Briscoes (Promos mostly since the last few years) are over Kings

So for me is a draw both have had the best tag title reigns in ROH history and are in par in the top of the company tag teams.
