The picture looks squashed, if fixed then i say the top one.

I like the top one. The second one is too hard to read the text. but like Chainy said, pic looks squashed...

Is there any advise on what to do to the picture so it doesnt look so squashed.

When you resize a picture(ctrl-t) hold down shift to keep the right proportional size. So just hit ctrl-t, hold shift, and drag it to size at the corners.

If you are using transform to resize it, hold down the shift key (if you use windows). If you are using resize, check constrain proportions.

I always press CTRL+T, and keep the percentages the same.
