Which match should close Double or Nothing 2023, Pillars 4 Way AEW World Championship Match or Anarchy In The Arena???

This Sunday is AEW Double Or Nothing 2023 in Las Vegas with a pretty good stacked card but there's two matches that stands out and Tony Khan has a tough decision to make on which of those two matches should close the show. In your opinion which match between AEW World Championship Pillars 4 Way Match & Anarchy In The Arena do you think should close out Double Or Nothing on Sunday?? I personally think it should be Anarchy In The Arena because the build to it was booked very slowly and properly, The Elite & Blackpool Combat Club didn't disappoint and had a lot of twists and heel turns also returns as well, BCC have wrecking havoc on AEW for months and The Elite are not standing for it and wants to go to war with them, then you add Don Callis who turned on Kenny Omega also nobody knows where Takeshita is after getting absolutely annihilated by BCC so I do think he'll play a role in this as well. You add all this up and expect chaos which it makes sense for The Elite & BCC to do battle in The Anarchy In The Arena. I have nothing against AEW World Championship Pillars 4 Way Match but it seems that I don't think it's live up to the hype to Main Event the show.

Match with the most heat or anticipation should always go last. That's definitely not the world title match.

There's a precedent of the crazy faction matches going above the world title at Double or Nothing, so given the star power in Anarchy in the Arena compared to the four-way match, there's a strong case for that.

DoN 2020 had Elite vs. Inner Circle (Stadium Stampede) headline over Mox vs. Brodie Lee.

DoN 2021 had Inner Circle vs. Pinnacle (Stadium Stampede) headline over Omega vs. PAC vs. Orange Cassidy.

But since DoN 2021, all eight AEW PPVs have been headlined by a world title match.

The 4-way is definitely the most lackluster world title PPV match in recent memory. Half the participants feel like they don’t even belong and Darby is barely there.

Might as well put the overbooked clusterfuck match last. At least it’ll be interesting.

The fact that people don't think anything of the world title match is even more reason it should close, not less. If you close with a garbage death match, it'll make the world title look even worse. This match needs all the help it can get, and given how infrequently MJF wrestles, the perception of the title will be hurt even more because there's nothing to rehab it with for a long time. And if they want to keep pushing this whole free agent 2024 thing, making him look like a midcarder who doesn't close shows is not the way to do that.

The only time that a non world title match should ever close a PPV is a Hogan/Rock, Undertaker/Shawn Michaels situation. If Sting retires at Wembley, go ahead. A match with Bryan Danielson, Claudio and a bunch of complete idiots stabbing themselves in the eyes with glass and sticking hot pokers into their piss holes while the camera can't focus on any of the action is not that.

But hey, people are calling for it, and it's got Moxley in it and he gets handed everything on a silver platter, so I'm sure Anarchy In The Arena will headline.

I have to side with putting the world title last also. The hype for the match itself is lackluster and to me it feels like a match for a WWE B or C PLE because Darby, Sammy and Jungle Boy don't belong in the world title match on one of the biggest PPVs of the year in AEW. Sammy can say on All Access 50 times that he wants to win the world title but that's not going to convince me that he should get the opportunity.

Anarchy match will be chaotic and more exciting and I look forward to that match more but the title that is supposed to be prestigious and is on the shoulder of MJF who they want people to think is a legit champ should go last.

It is definitely not a good idea to have anything following Anarchy in the Arena. I get a feeling like they might be stubborn and put the 4-way on last just because of their hopes for those guys and to try and prove a point.

I do think they have done a good job the past couple of weeks in heating the program up some, but still nowhere near enough to top the garbage fest. Still, you know Sammy, Darby, and Jack will fucking throw themselves around and get the crowd back soon enough, but you also just know they'll probably bury someone else by putting them in the buffer spot between the two like they did last year.

Anarchy - not even an option

they'll destroy the ring and everything around it

that being said, when we look at both in the hard light of day.... I have a feeling the Pillars is gonna be a better match
Open with the garbage world title match (which I would almost NEVER usually advocate) and close with Anarchy In The Arena.

World title match. No brainer. Elite vs BCC is my most anticipated match of the card but the world title match should always close the show IMO. Besides I'm damn sure all 4 will give their absolute best so it will definitely be one of the best matches of the night.
It dont matter if its lackluster, That is AEW's problem. The belt should be last as its supposed to be the entire point of the promotion. The biggest prize. It just says more about the current state of the product. Dont downgrade the importance of your belts because you cant book.

Put the sleep-inducing 4-Pillars-nonsense on the pre show or scrap it altogether. I have 0 interest in anything that involves the cringelords Guevara and Friedman, they cause me an unhealthy amount of second hand embarrassment.

I'm big on the World title always main eventing, but in this case there is too much star power within Anarchy in the Arena for that not to main event.

Pillars, unless the idea is for Punk to have a run-in with The Elite after Anarchy in the Arena, but booking in that order all but gives it away.
I understand the appeal of wanting to close with the young fresh faces to try and elevate some people and I also understand that MJF has proven reliable in closing match situations.

However, there is no heat on that 4 way at all and nobody expects a title change. If it closes, it'll probably fall flat to some degree due to lack of intrigue. I say close with the wild free-for-all Anarchy in the Arena match.
People going on like the pillars match is gonna be shit when it’s gonna be a banger :ROFLMAO:

The match will be really good, but after something like Anarchy in the Arena it can be tough to get the crowd back again (at least for like the first half of the match), so you risk having your world title match in front of a dead crowd, which is a terrible look.
anarchy in the arena. no one cars about the MJF vs 3 jobber midcards match.
