So Orton is bigger than Stone Cold since Austin is no longer with the company? :no:

By far, Batista.
Orton, last year, was the most popular he's ever been, and he did nothing for business.
Batista brought a 40% increase to Raw revenue as soon as he won the Royal Rumble in 2005 and WWE hasn't looked back since. Actually, if you look at the numbers, he was the biggest star the company had until mid-2006, even while on Smackdown for most of that duration. I won't go into the success he brought Smackdown as a brand and the fact that he was the biggest international star WWE had until 2008.
Orton isn't in Batista's league when it comes to starpower.
The only thing he has going for him is the advantage that Batista decided to leave when he could have headlined for another two years and cemented his legacy further. That, and Orton still has around 10 years to add to his legacy. But even with that, his highest high will never reach Batista's. That much I guarantee you.

back in 2005 Batista was the biggest star in WWE yes even bigger than Cena. Batista was the #2 face in the company for years behind Cena. Orton wishes he was at the level Batsita was at during his run. The Batista heel run of 09-10 was better than the Orton heel run of 09 also.

Batista is a much bigger star then Randy Orton will ever be and there is no other answer-period. Batista was given the ball and never looked back as he launched himself to ultimate stardom while Orton fumble the ball when the spotlight kept shining on him until 2008 came. Funny how things changed cause WWE was grooming Orton to be their next big star in Evolution while Batista was just the silent enforcer in the background.
Hell, WWE pretty much told fans that Batista is way bigger then Orton with Batista squashing him in most of their single matches and Orton never really manage to defeat big Dave whether interference came into play or not. Even as a Heel Batista still was going over Orton-if anything Orton was Batista’s little bitch that he smacked around for years.
If Batista returned tomorrow, Orton will be mid-carding like he was in early 2010 all over again and Batista will still be leagues ahead of him.
Still to this day, the Rise of Batista is still better then anything Orton has ever done in the main event scene.

I say Orton. Batista's height of popularity was during his feud with Trips and once he went to Smackdown away from his buddy his popularity faded quite a bit. When he was put back on Raw and feuded with Cena his popularity rose because it was entertaining.
But Orton. He has clawed and scratched his way to the top. They booked him hard to be a heel and the fans fought that every step of the way. We made him a tweener. That never happened with Batista.

Its funny because originally Orton was the one they wanted to push in 04 but then they made HHH squash him(for no reason) and as a backup plan they chose Batista who, at the time was the most over guy in the company but yet again, despite the fact he beat HHH in their fued HE then for no reason was traded to the B show and his star power began to drop while Cena's gotten even higher. Now 6 years after his intial push and all the failed pushes in between Orton is finally starting to get over. Batista is clearly the bigger star.

Batista, easily. Anyone who says this is close isn't really thinking about it. In '05 Batista and Cena became "The Man" on their respective shows and if Batista wasn't more popular, then was even with Cena in terms of popularity. Fast forward to now, and even though Orton is a top face, he still can't rival Cena in terms of popularity.
Seriously. The slow Batista face turn is one of the best I've seen.

Batista, absolutely, and it's not even a question.
Truly remarkable how it happened, though. Just proves that you really don't need talent to get over. Orton has more talent than Batista in absolutely every single category, but Batista got over. Simple as that.
