There's two ways we can go with the next card in terms of dates. We can either:

Post the TDL XI Card once the judging for X is finished which should hopefully be circa December 20th and then have an extended deadline that runs through the holiday period. So for a 10 day deadline we'd do it (using the 20th as an example date for posting the card) 4 days before Xmas and then 6 days after New Year. That way you'll have time before, during and after the holidays.

or

Post the TDL XI Card AFTER the holiday period.

So basically would people rather have an extended deadline that runs before and through the holiday period with Xmas Day to New Years Day not included in the deadline or not?

Also, we'll be doing awards after the results for TDL X are posted. More details to follow.

The way I see it, we get the results for the SUPERCARD in a week or so.
- Then you guys want to do awards.
- Then TDL XI has to be posted.

I, for one, will be on very rarely - if at all - over the holidays until the new year. Why try to cram a results show, awards, and a new card into a timeframe that you can be spending with friends and family during a well-deserved break? That's my thoughts, anyways. I'm all for a light schedule over the holidays.

During the holidays definitely. It makes no sense to wait until people are that much more preoccupied with actual work.

Good thing about TDL is it isn't all that consuming. I mean unless you're actually constantly with your family, there's always a quiet moment here and there, before everyone's up, just before everyone's gone to sleep etc that added up, would give you more than enough time to do your debate. That's my thinking, at least.

That's basically what I was thinking too. With both options the actual 10 day deadline doesn't run through Xmas - New Year week so we're not in any way including that time as deadline time. But for some people that week or just before Xmas may be when they have more time than after new year so it may favour them more. Basically having it run before, during and after gives more time for people to do it whenever and if you won't have time during the holidays then there's still the actual 10 days that will before and after that week. Activity in the section isn't really the issue here, it's more how many people would prefer the extra time before and during Xmas to know what their debate is. For those who won't be on during that time they still have the week after New Year.

Fair enough then. I think I misread the OP, actually. An extra-long time to submit a debate, one that is convenient around any kind of holiday schedule, really, is cool with me.

So yeah, I voted "after new year" originally but I'm cool with the set up you're proposing. HINDSIGHT 20/20 and all that.

Before/during/after is fine. Gives people a chance to submit whenever they find the time.

I'll also be doing the next T2T show and finally get around to those profiles to keep things going during the extended deadline.

No doubt I will get buried during the awards :jose

In terms of posting the card defo do it for throughout the holiday period. Obviously people will be preoccupied with family and such but it's better that than starting it early Jan once people are preoccupied with work.

I'm just going to reiterate something here for preservation's sake. ANDRE and I are set to square off in a SPORTS DIVISION SPECIAL ATTRACTION MATCH on the next card. 800 words, non-title. "Should Hull City be granted exemption status in order to participate in the Champions League?" will be the debate. This is a GRUDGE MATCH. I'll be taking the side of "Yes, they should."

Because we support the good ol' boys representing KINGSTON UPON HULL, which is actually Hull City, which is a real fact.

But please, that's one of the main points of my debate and I don't want to reveal too much for Andre to futilely attempt to counter.
