So, she's clearly Impact's top star (by far) and just lost in a pretty important (by Impact and her current status standards) match that made the fans go 'Huh?....'.
The post-match ending was also double-edged. On one hand , giving her the bat gesture means the feud is over and the feud ended with Sami winning. Bad. But they didnt want to completely shit on her and end the PPV with a downer so from that pov the respect moment made sense. Good.
Now all of that aside the only really important thing is - Where do you go with her from here? I doubt the crowd is going to completely (if at all) give up on her, so she's still gonna be their hottest commodity. There's still a chance to turn her into a legit draw (again, by Impact standards), a small but a difference-maker.

What should be her next feud? Who should be her opponent at BFG? World title? X Division title? World/X belt at BFG or later? (obviously the timing is important more than ever because wrestling fans are quite, quite impatient these days so you dont want to get your hot star completely cold.)

Just wanna hear/read viewers' thoughts on this since it seems that she's either gonna make or break the promotion. Not because she's over and a woman but because Impact is taking that intergender route and that's pretty dangerous.

She's not a homegrown talent, but Impact is certainty the platform where she's consistently been at her best, most over, and had the most viewership. I feel next too Cage, and possibly more so, she's the biggest draw in the company. She should go for the world title and win. Impact has to bend over for her at this point because of how valuable she is to them. It's that or AEW. I'm sure WWE would hire her, but only to avoid her gaining popularity elsewhere (like EC3).

I won't argue inter-gender wrestling one way or the other, but Tessa is the peak female to make inter-gender legit.

That's a good question.

She went toe to toe with their top male heel (arguably) and while she lost, she looked competitive and like she should be at that level. You could argue there's more story to tell with her losing.

But, what's the end game? Like, is she going to continue to wrestle men? Are they going to try to build her to the X Division title? Or even bigger, will they try and make her the biggest name in the company and go for the World Title?

I mean it would almost feel weird if next PPV she's wrestling Taya for the Women's Title again. It wouldn't be a step down or anything and Taya's wrestled men herself. But again, it would still feel weird.

This is one thing that has me intrigued to watch what they do next with her.

My guess is that with Impact looking for a new deal their plan is to have her win the title at BFG from Cage.

Being the 1st company to have a woman hold the heavyweight title at that level would be a huge media swoon for them. Plus if she beats Cage it really puts her over and he is physically the ideal archetype for her to overcome.

Agreed, she'll probably win a battle royal to become number one contender. I could see them adding Sami to the match to give the match some heat and make it a three way too.

This is how I could see the BFG card looking:

Cage vs Blanchard (vs Callihan?)(World championship)
Edwards vs Elgin
Rhino vs Moose
RVD vs Sami or Kross
Swann vs Mack(XDivision championship)
North vs Rascalz vs oVe(Ladder match)
Taya vs Rosemary(KO championship)
Havok vs Su (Dog collar chain match)

Sami winning was the right choice. And that ending was great. She kept up with Sami and almost beat him. Keep in mind, he only won due to the bats being brought in the match!

This match put both Sami and Tessa over. And she can now go on to face Taya for the KO title again, as the top face. There is actually no need for more intergender stuff, it peaked with this storyline and match.

She's great but wouldn't put her in the top star category. Got the most buzz? Yes.

IW need to be careful with the intergender matches. Rematch with sami then I honestly think a programme with Rosemary for the KO title would draw more $$ than a Cage match.

Yeah that's what I was wondering too. After she went all out with sami and almost won, it's kinda hard to see her fight other women and not always come out on top. No disrespect to all the women in the locker room it's just something that's been on my mind after that match. I mean, she got manhandled and tossed like a rag doll and it took two piledrivers to finish her.

She'll probably go back to the Knockout's Division at this rate. No sense in her toppling babyface champions like Swann or Cage at BFG, when that defeats the purpose of her being a top babyface herself. Unless one of those champions changes to a significant heel.

Chikara & Lucha Underground already hit those marks first.

Keep telling yourself that. Welcome to pro wrestling; it's a niche world unless the name McMahon is behind it.
Doesn't matter. Impact still gets way more media coverage than freaking chikara.

There are even German sport sites here who report about IMPACT occasionally.

Even sites like Forbes, yahoo sports, and other smaller sites report about Slammiversary. (probably never ever about chikara).

So yes, I keep telling that myself cause I am right and you are (as always) wrong.

No selling Chikara/LU would be ironic. Remember WWE pretending their womens match in Abu Dhabi was "HISTORIC!!!!11"? Well, hopefully Impact's brain trust (especially Josh Mathews) remember it. Lying to casuals - lol, lying to hardcores - LOL. No matter how you feel about Chikara/LU.

Being the first intergender Slammiversary main event is historic.

Has nothing to do with Chikara or LU.

The sky is the limit with Tessa. She is young and leaps and bounds ahead of just about every female wrestler in terms of in ring talent. She's just got a natural ability in the ring that eclipses all other female wrestlers and that includes the WWE divas too. She's also got that sex appeal as well. I wonder when her contract expires with Impact. If the answer is soon, then I imagine that WWE and AEW will be chomping at the bit for her.

Tessa vs Cage for the belt in a face/face match could work if they build it right. Like, her fighting a scumbag rat fuck in Sami was killer, but her fighting a roided up behemoth for the belt would have the world talking, and rightly so.

Also :mj4 At those who want to pretend LU and CHIKARA doing this didn't matter because of their "status". Yes, LU is run by awful people, and Quack is goof. Not to mention the fact that Starr is a terrible piece of shit, and Kimber is a bit of a dick. Doesn't mean they don't matter, or we should act like they didn't happen. Tessa can be apart of that history, and I'm all for it.

She signed a 2 year deal last April so next year her contract expires
