Nothing really. No matter how bad ratings get, its highly unlikely that any of it can be attributed specifically to the brand split. Maybe if business goes down so bad and they go into panicmode, but thats very unlikely.

The first split ended because SmackDown was doing really poor numbers with their house shows. If attendance goes way down for either RAW or SmackDown they may consider reunite the shows, but I don't think it's gonna happen very soon.

The brandsplit is whats best. Without it guys like Styles,Owens and Bray would never have won the title. It allows for guys to get built up on opposite brands and later have matches against eachother. Corbin vs Strowman. Reigns vs Nakamura. Without a brandpslit those matches would of happend a thousand times already

Not everyone should win a title. Without the brand split, I'm pretty sure Jinder wouldn't be champ.

your point would have been better if these title reigns were actually good.

I like Owens but he shouldn't have been world champion and trash like Bray winning titles is exactly why the brand split is a terrible idea.

And Owens only became champ because Balor got injured. Bray's title run was so bad that it might as well have not even happened

If those guys wouldn't have won the WWE Title, then maybe they shouldn't have held the title in the first place? Using this logic, why not create a World Championship for everybody in the company. The World Title should be placed on your biggest star or the guy who is going to put your biggest star over. I don't want to see any of those matches you listed, because I don't care about those guys, because the WWE has done their best to make me not care about them by pushing them either too hard, too fast, too strong or in a weird way that covers up their charm. For some reason, people have this idea that more in wrestling is better. More title reigns, more champions, more guys on the roster. If you go back and see how the WWF turned around in 1998 -- it's basically Steve Austin with Vince McMahon, Mankind, The Undertaker and Kane as a supporting cast and The Rock as a shining gem in the mid-card. That is literally all you need to set things up for your hottest period of all-time. You don't need to burn Reigns vs. Nakamura right away, because you'd have a whole bunch of mid-carders to throw at them and keep them interesting until you make money off them finally fighting each other -- if those were the two guys you wanted to run with.

Which champions matter in the WWE? Brock Lesnar matters. The Hardys, maybe? That's it. That's how many champions you need.

To answer the question, I actually think it might be mercifully over if things aren't looking good for that contract renewal with the USA Network, and they just end this experiment to boost RAW back up again -- because the answer will be Cena, Vince and legends -- like it always is. I imagine Vince returning, saying that it is time for one of his children to take control over the WWE, so it will be a Free For All between the brands, and at [WWE Big Fight or something stupid] all the championships will be unified and his son will fight his son-in-law for control of the company. Hell, it really wouldn't surprise me if it happened soon.

Man, imagine if the WWE just announced SummerSlam as the end to this noise. You could have the following card:

Undisputed WWE Championship
Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena (he wins the WWE Title on a SmackDown return after Money in the Bank)

Street Fight for Control of WWE
Triple H vs. Shane McMahon

Undisputed Women's Championship
Alexa Bliss (w/ Ric Flair, designed to torture Charlotte) vs. Charlotte Flair

Six-Man Tag Team Match
Bray Wyatt, Samoa Joe & Braun Strowman vs. The Shield (who reform out of necessity to fight their aligned enemies)

The Rock Segment
Jinder Mahal comes out with Rusev and The Singh Brothers and claims that Bollywood is better than Hollywod. The Rock points out that he is outnumbered and needs some American partners. Kurt Angle, Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin make their way out and beat up the heels and then Daniel Bryan leads everybody in a "YES!" chant.

Ladder Match for the Undisputed Tag Team Championship
The Hardy Boyz vs. Sheamus & Cesaro vs. The New Day vs. The Usos (two teams from RAW and two teams from SmackDown)

Intercontinental Championship/United States Championship Unification Match
The Miz vs. AJ Styles

Just Because
Kevin Owens vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

WWE UK Championship
Pete Dunne (c) vs. Tyler Bate (hey, their matches have been working)

Cruiserweight Championship
Austin Aries (c) vs. Finn Balor

Mildred Burke Memorial Battle Royal
Seems like a weird inclusion, but since it is your prerogative to push female talent, this could be a good way to showcase a whole bunch of your women, and put someone in the position to move forward strongly to challenge Charlotte coming out of the PPV. This would be a great way to debut Asuka.

Kickoff Tag Team Match
Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs. The Revival

All that would add up to a really enjoyable PPV experience, with some finality, some focus, and everything existing for a reason. Man, it could be so, so good.

Hopefully nothing. WWE was garbage before the brand split. 2014-2016 worst fucking years.

as i predicted a year ago (i'm sure i wasnt alone) as soon as the initial excitement of the brand split wore off, the pitfalls and issues of a brand split (ESPECIALLY in 2017) were going to be painfully obvious and it was going to blow. And here we are.... it blows.

Too many belts, too many ppvs, too few variety...and you fucking kill yourself with easy storyline things by having a split. The women's, tag, and mid-card belts are devastated by that

The brand split should always stay in my opinion. With the amount of talent they employ, it's going to be a mess without the brand split. Most guys would be totally directionless without the brand split and that could include even the top superstars like Cena, AJ, Orton, Ambrose, Rollins, etc.

Whenever WWE runs through their very short list of creative ideas they will want to "shake things up again" by ending the brand split and present the title unification matches as something special. I promise it will happen in the next couple years.
