I see this term thrown out a lot (mostly in a derogatory/facetious manner), but I can never quite grasp what it is. It sounds mathematical, but what does it actually mean? Is it moves per match? Minutes per match? What?

Workrate is basically the action that goes in a match, what the wrestlers do to lay it out. It is not tied to number of moves or style.

In actual sports, its like your hustle. And your stamina.

No idea why people use it in wrestling, its mostly people who have no idea what it means. It has nothing to do with quality.

It's about working in tandem with your opponent, making the match flow from one instance to the next, communicating easily with everybody in the ring, keep the crowd invested, and most of all - trying not to hurt yourself or anybody else.
