Everyone knows that Vince books everything in WWE and it all goes through him. And he is giving out some seriously mixed signals.

- First he doesn't even sign this guy for over a decade even though he had multiple opportunities to.

- Then he signs him and lets him bypass NXT completely and debut in the Royal Rumble.

- Then he tells Ryback he will "squash that little twerp" at Wrestlemania.

- Jericho beats AJ Styles at his debut Wrestlemania for no real reason.

- The AJ Styles suddenly becomes Number 1 contender for the title.

- He jobs to Roman twice and becomes an afterthought in the title feud after Rollins returns.

- Then suddenly AJ is burying Cena and taking the title from Ambrose.

- And now he is being embarrassed weekly by James Ellsworth.

What is going on here? What is up with this topsy turvy booking? How do you go from wanting to embarrass and squash someone at Wrestlemania, to making them Number 1 contender for the title the night after on RAW?

And how do you go from having someone damn near bury John Cena with consistent wins over him, and then start embarrassing him and having him job weekly to James freakin Ellsworth??? And they expect to transition from this feud and have him face The Undertaker at the Royal Rumble?

AJ Styles has had more ups and downs in 10 months than most people have in a career.

WWE booking makes absolutely no sense.

The Ellsworth stuff is stupid, but everything else though...he lost to Jericho an all time great, and lost close matches v Reigns, calling those burials is absurd.

Until very recently, Vince has lived in such a bubble that he didn't comprehend people's stardom because he never watched anything that wasn't WWE. The reason WWE didn't sign Sting until 2014, for example, was because the money TNA offered him was a much bigger number than WWE wanted to offer him, because even though to everyone else he was this legend and superstar, to Vince he was just some guy. Because Vince never kept up with anything except for WWE. They only signed Sting when they noticed how over he was when they put him in WWE 2K15 and I guess that's when Vince realized how big of a star Sting really was. Speaking of AJ Styles, he was originally only supposed to be a midcarder, but those plans changed when the fans went absolutely crazy at the Royal Rumble.

Thank God, could you imagine if the freakin DEVELOPMENTAL had AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura all at the same time? I mean, the matches they would put on would be absolutely amazing, but those matches should happen at WrestleManias, not TakeOvers.

Come on, you don't believe that.

- Jericho beats AJ Styles at his debut Wrestlemania for no real reason.
That Mania was all about unpredictability and swerved finishes, plus WWE likes to have their stars lose the second match at WrestleMania and main event the very next PPV. It has literally happened every year from WM 29 through 32. It's bad booking, but they do it all the time. Every time someone wins a title, or the MitB briefcase, or whatever, they go on a losing streak.

- The AJ Styles suddenly becomes Number 1 contender for the title.
The reports at the time said how Vince had realized how good AJ was and trusted him to always deliver a show-stealing match, which he did in both PPVs.

- He jobs to Roman twice and becomes an afterthought in the title feud after Rollins returns.
You talk as if Reigns buried him. AJ Styles was booked pretty strong in both matches, and after his title program was done, he started feuding with John Cena. Hardly something "an afterthought" does. Oh and not only that, but he actually beat him.

- Then suddenly AJ is burying Cena and taking the title from Ambrose.
I don't see anything sudden about it. His WWE career has been going upward ever since WrestleMania, even including the two main event losses.

- And now he is being embarrassed weekly by James Ellsworth.
He's not really jobbing to him. The feud here is that Dean Ambrose is messing with Styles' head, not that Styles is an incompetent fool who is being embarrassed by a jobber. People talk about how Ellsworth beat him three times, but remember what those victories actually are: the first time it was when Ambrose was referee and literally refused to count for Styles, while counting fast for Ellsworth. In the end, Ambrose hits him with Dirty Deeds and places dead Ellsworth over him. The second time it was DQ because Styles was so angry at Ambrose he refused to stop pounding Ellsworth in the ropes. And the third time, it was once again because Ambrose interfered and attacked Styles, and the latter got his foot stuck in the ropes. It's not James Ellsworth always coming on top in these segments, it's Dean Ambrose. Ellsworth is just a comedy act.

Having AJ Styles on the card brings him money, doesn't matter how he's treat, him being there brings him money, that's all that matters really.
