Are kids the cancer that is killing the WWE?

Is it WWE being PG the cancer that is killing the WWE?

Nothing is the cancer. The WWE is not dying. It is making loads of profit.

Uhh... what? Since when has the WWE been dying? Last time I checked Vince McMahon and co. are still ridiculously wealthy.

None of those three to start.

I think its the writing/booking and everything that goes with it. I am a fan of Barrett and Gabriel but the Corre is a stupid idea, Orton picking off the new Nexus like Cena did with the old Nexus is a stupid idea, Building up Sheamus and then completely burying him until last week is a stupid idea. In the end it is the writing and booking that is the problem.

This. Trying to determine the cause of WWE's cancer is pointless because they, at worst, have a cold.

They are only dying in terms of quality. I think it's a mix of lack of top stars and everything already have been done before. I actually think that pro wrestling as a whole is dying. At least it seems that way.

Its not just wrasslin son. The comics industry, the music industry, sports, cinema, tv, there is definitely a deep sign of decline in alot of pop culture today.

As previously stated, the WWE isn't dying financially. I'll go along with this because quality-wise it can certainly die. I think the worst thing about WWE is their inability to tell the stories necessary to get over unestablished guys. Start and stop pushing of younger talent flat out does not work for them. They need consistency most. That's one thing that's been missing from wrestling for a long time. They need to change things up. I thought this would happen with Nexus, but look where Nexus is now... dorks who are being killed off by Orton and a spinoff faction.

To myself and id guess to alot of people my age WWE is less popular because its very family friendly. Whereas during my lifetime the WWE has pretty much grown u with me. Starting with the cartoony stuff almost superhero like wrestlers against the baddies like the law enforcement of the Big BossMan vs the supervillian of nailz. All the characters were like out of comic books the Beserker, the warlord, the barbarian etc... Then as i got older it changed with me all the comic book characters went away and the product got edgier you had Shawn Micheals vs Diesel effectively feuding over who could sleep with Pamela Anderson. Then the attitude era. Now it appears the WWE is effectively starting the process again for the next generation. The Superhero John Cena. In 6/7 years when the current target market gets older i expect WWE to follow the same pattern. Grow with them then reach the culmination and repeat. Cena is the Hogan and it well be very interesting at the end of decade who has emerged as the Rock and the Austin.
