Look in the thread. Most believe AJs best matches were with Reigns and Lesnar.
And Lesnar best match since he came back was with Reigns in Wrestlemania.
He's not a flippy floppy or technical wrestler but his match psychology, selling etc are one of the best.
Dude, Reigns matches with AJ were literally finisher spam spotfests. Congrats, they got the crowd going off A STYLES CLASH ON A CHAIR KICKOUT SPOT.

The Lesnar match was great, but it wasn't even THAT great. Cena matches were good, but again, finisher spam fest.

Ambrose and AJ literally did not do a SINGLE finisher kick out in their matches, and had the crowd the whole time. Joe and AJ had a really good series as well, it just got bogged down by lackluster finishes, but the body of the matches were very good, probably better than the Reigns matches.

Agree. Styles Reigns 2 was a fun overbooked entertaining car crash. But Styles Ambrose was a fantastic wrestling match. I would take the latter over the former.

Everyone pretty much has a good point to make here.

When TNA just started AJ Styles was the man. Id say he was there top star and he carried that company on his back. Thats where the phrase "The house that AJ Styles built." Came from

The hottest feud going at the time to was AJ vs Samona Jo. They have great chemistry in the ring.

Now this could be one part why AJ's matches arent living up to expectations now is that the matches AJ had back in TNA is what were seeing now on NXT Takeovers. Younger guys and girls are having matches on NXT that AJ used to have and now AJ Styles styles is a little different in the ring due to his age.

Also it sounds like AJ mostly has better matches with guys bigger than him like Brock's better matches are with smaller guys

At this point AJ Styles has probably aged out of the kind of match he’s expected to have. You can’t avoid Father Time forever.
