In case some of you all don't remember Back in 2009 ROH talent Nigel Mcguiness supposedly was signing to the WWE but changed his mind and went to TNA under Desmond Wolfe which he later was released and is now a commentator in ROH

My question is hat would happen if Nigel did decide to stick around and signed to the WWE?

Would he be a world champion?

Would he be as popular with the fans as Bryan and Punk are?

Or would he just be a mid carder/jobber?

Who knows since he retired from in ring action. But if WWE had singed McGuiness i'd say he'd have been chosen over Bryan to be a world champion. Nigel is better then Bryan on the mic and is a complete package. Better candidate.

Wasn't the whole reason WWE didn't sign him, was cause of his health issues...and look at where he is now, a commentator(no longer wrestling I believe), because of health issues?

So WWE knew before signing him that his career prob wouldn't last much longer so if he signed with WWE, he'd probably be like a Sin Cara thing.

They wouldn't have used him well despite how good he is. Remember, he is English, that's the WWE's big recurring theme, no world titles for them, for.....some reason. Which is a shame because he was really worth investing into, but he never got signed because of the health issues. At the very least he deserved to be in a company that people actually see.

He would be becoming one of their best stars, maybe even holding a money in the bank briefcase right now.

Also, Wade Barrett wouldn't have a job.
Not sure how you figured that out being that Barrett had been signed since late 2007.

He would of ended up being released because of how injury plagued he got. His TNA schedule was nothing compared to the schedule he would of had in the WWE.

Barring injuries, I think he could of been extremely successful in the WWE. If NXT season 1 would of had both Nigel and Bryan, it would of been a lot more entertaining that's for sure.

He never chose to go to TNA. He had no choice besides ROH or other Indy companies. WWE rescinded their offer to him after his health test was negative. If WWE decided to sign him anyway, he probably wouldn't have done much as his health issues stopped him 2 years ago. Maybe Nigel would have been on NXT 1 or 2 instead of Darren Young or Titus O'Neal.

I meant it as Barrett would be released because they would have a better British wrestler and don't need a second one.

1)Youth means nothing. Batista was in his late 30s when he became a main eventer.

2) Seeing as his health status prevented him from joining the WWE and this thread is about if he had signed, I'm viewing this scenario as if he never had any health complications.

I, for one, am glad he didn't. I was still a huge TNA mark at the time of his arrival, and I never saw what was so special about him. He was just another guy who was overrated by the IWC because he came from ROH.
