It's also about money. If a wrestler is loved or hated that much so people will pay money to go to see them win or lose, they are pretty much over. These wrestlers are called 'Draws' because they draw crowds from the outside into the arena.

The best definition of it I can think of off hand and with practically no sleep in the past couple of days is, People actually care about you. They're invested in you, for one reason or another. Maybe you have a goofy, awful rap song that gets stuck in people's heads and they want to sing it out with you or maybe they like the mask you wear your maybe you have a great, icily villainous voice on the mic or maybe you're a beast in the ring or maybe Vince has shoved you down the fans' throats to the point where they have to give a reaction or maybe you're the biggest star in American pro wrestling, or something else. They care about you, one way or the other, or even sometimes both ways.

There are obviously entirely different levels of "overness." JTG may be "over," but for now he's graded as being an over undercarder. Kofi Kingston is usually ridiculously over, but he's not expected to blow the roof off the building when he comes out like Cena. Etceteras.

Basically it means your character is over with the crowd... they've bought into it and they believe in it and they respond accordingly.

Example of an an over face: John Cena. He comes in, the crowd cheers for him. He cuts a promo against a heel, the crowd is on his side. He's a main eventer, people care when he's in a match. He earns the WWE money by being able to draw a crowd.

Example of an over Heel: Vickie Guerrero. The crowd heckles, boos, gives her a lot of heat. Over heels are spectacular at making you rage. They're the bad guys and you want to see them pay, and you will pay money to see them get what they deserve.

These are examples of being very over, there are lesser extents. The crowd cheering when Santino goes for the cobra. The crowd booing Cole and his laptop. Characters often have aspects of their character be over, but it's rare that a a character and everything they do is over enough to make the crowd go wild.

So basically if you don't receive a positive or negative reaction (depending on whether you're a heel or face) you are not considered "over" with the crowd.

Indeed. I honestly think Dolph is fucked if they take Vickie off him. No offense to the guy...but just...LOOK at him. Every time his music cues, I have to frantically look around for my fuck to give.
