It was totally random and stupid, I couldn't believe it as a 15 year old watching it and now looking back I still can't believe they bothered with producing that angle.

It was the worst thing WWE has ever done aside from Orton's promo against Rey after Eddie died. If TNA ever, ever did something even a tenth of the Vick angle this board would go apeshit. It was beyond stupid. And from what Triple H has said it was the brain child of Vince who basically directed the funeral scene, while an actual funeral happened in the other room.

Yeah I thought it was stupid, and it brought Kane's popularity down a bit because up until that particular angle, he was red-hot. It also didn't make sense at the time because he was supposed to be burned up(But it made sense later once he was unmasked, because he was never burnt). Not to mention screwups like HHH throwing Kane in the trunk of his car at the end of RAW, and riding off, only for the door to pop up before they went off air. The best thing to come out of it was that video Kane and Hurricane made with the person in a HHH mask, and they were pulling different things out of his ass.

I think it proved that HHH was the most overrated wrestler in the industry. Until then, there was a false illusion about him being better than he really was but he proved me and everyone else who could see through his politics right.

Oh God, it was horrible. Then hearing Triple H discuss it, with Vince being some sort of porn director, criticizing his intensity and his thrusting and the volume of his grunts when AN ACTUAL FUNERAL WAS BEING CONDUCTED IN THE BUILDING.

I mean, its loathsome and shameful and embarrassing and to me the worst moment of the Attitude Era.

It wasn't apart of the Attitude Era. It was apart of the era that pushed Brock Lesnar, Orton, and Cena to the top. Ruthless Aggression.

Yeah, you are right, it was post Attitude, but it just reminded me of all the worst excess and stupidity of it.

There is a video shoot on youtube from 2004 or 5 where Triple H talks about it and what he thinks being the guy that introduced it on Raw.

It's quite funny, I just cant be bothered linking it.

HHH says that when he made the promo where he put Kane's mask on and raped the corpse in the church it was quite embarressing really cause there were tons of camera crew around me and Vince was there shouting "HARDER, FASTER, YOU CAN DO BETTER" etc. and next door was a funeral.

I thought it was disgusting and extremely bad taste. Not to mention the fact that it totally killed any chance of a feud between the two entertaining. Worst angle in WWE history.

Honestly, I can't remember a single good thing to come out of that storyline. To me it was absolutely horrible and could of been avoided altogether. When it came to the episode of Raw when Triple H had sex with the doll was enough for me to turn off the tv. The whole storyline was wrong on so many levels.
