Chalk this up as pure speculation, since fate ultimately dictated we'd never know, but do you think Vince was going to set up an Elizabeth heel turn on Savage later in 1992 had they still been together in real life at that point? There's no hard proof this was ever on the docket, of course, but if one looks close enough, there would appear to have at least been the foundation for it, since they were still having Heenan and Perfect claiming she was in love with Flair up till the point her final on-camera appearance in a WWF capacity was aired. Since we the viewers would have assumed with the photos of her and Flair being exposed as frauds that the whole thing was a sham instituted by the Nature Boy and his Executive Consultant and Financial Adviser, it would have made for a particularly shocking twist to pull it. And since the eventual SummerSlam '92 storyline was questioning whether Savage or the Warrior had sold out to Perfect, one can see perhaps a ghost of a similar plotline being given to her, or indeed run concurrently with the Perfect plot to twist things even more. I'll nonetheless say for the record such move had it occurred would have been a mistake; classic era WWF audiences probably would never have accepted her as the villain--I certainly wouldn't have. Perhaps, then, in a way it's better we never did have that question answered.
