During the recent edition of Z! True Long Island Story, Zack Ryder revealed that he had been issued a challenge by Dolph Ziggler for his custom "Internet Championship" as part of next year's WWE WrestleMania 29 pay-per-view event.
According to sources, this challenge reportedly stems from both individuals working matches on WWE Superstars this week.

This seems more like an attempt to get some spotlights back on them after both lost a lot of steam in recent months and it all concluded with both guys fighting on Superstars this week. Doubt the match itself will happen...

i think that it may happen, but not for the internet championship; however, as both of them were on there complaining about Superstars appearances and not being used properly i think there may me more to it; Either a feud for another title ie us title again, or perhaps even an alliance to get themselves back on TV more (although this means a heel turn for Ryder or face turn for Ziggler (wont happen) )

found it interesting that at a houseshow (and YES i know it was only a houseshow) that Ziggler used Mason Ryan as his bodyguard against Cena (after wrestling him of course on Superstars) im just hoping that he may begin to break away from vickie even if it means an alliance with someeone like Ryan (which would help Ryan as well)

I'm still not too sure whether this will be an actual match on the card or just something as a part of Z:TLIS. Maybe if the idea gets enough fan support WWE will get behind it.

I'm a huge Ryder fan, but I'd have to agree with this. Even though Ziggler is being "OMG berriedz" he still appears to be higher than Ryder on the totem pole.

I don't think that's even disputable. Ryder should be in the midcard either feuding for the US/IC or Tag titles (if not involved in the Kane or Eve storyline) while Dolph should be on the brink of main-eventing by now with feuds with top guys. That being said neither is anywhere close to that spot atm.

Dolph in a match for the Internet title looks like Rocky vs Drago, Ali vs Fraizer, Celtics vs Lakers in comparison to Dolph vs Brodus, esp. when he gets squashed every time.

It's good to have a low-level storyline they can push that is important enough to give attention to but not important enough not to cancel. All else fails and something happens, they can always have Ziggler get impatient and bring the match forward or have them compete twice on the preshow or something. This is definitely a good thing.
