Straight from McMahon's lips during the Quarter 1 Conference Call earlier
-Vince was asked what went right with WrestleMania 28. He said it was executed better. He said using The Rock helped them spotlight their own stars. He also praised the Triple H vs. Undertaker match.
Thank you, Rocky.

Re: VinceMcMahon admits without the Rock, they aren't shit

So Wrestlemania being executed better, praising Triple H vs. The Undertaker sand saying because Rock was on the show (meaning it got more viewers) it allowed them to highlight their own stars more suddenly means they aren't nothing without The Rock? okay.

He said The Rock helped, talk about misconstruing somebody's words. He never said WWE were nothing or "weren't shit" as you put it without Rock.

And I'm a HUGE Rock fan btw but this is just stupid.

He clearly doesn't utter those exact words, nor does he imply the point you claim he is stating.

Thank you, Rocky.

Damn you're retarded. The Rock is a top draw for sure, and he brought in casual fans who hadn't been in on the product for a long time. Vince is saying that those casual fans who came for Rock, watched the rest of the show, and discovered the new talent and are now sticking around.

It doesn't mean he's admitting "The WWE isn't shit without Rocky". Get your head out of your ass.

:lmao nothing in that quote would suggest Vince said anything close to your thread title.

He said Rock was part of why WM28 was so successful and thats about it.

I personally dislike the fact that Vince relied on the past in order to sell his current product. Like NBA 2K11 and 2K12. They rely on the presence of the past and take a shit all over the current talent who work their asses off.

Don't be a big baby...he said that the Rock HELPED spotlight his stars. That meant they couldn't headline on their own. It's true. One year it's Mayweawther helping...another it's Trump...then they bring back Austin..they call Mickey Rourke or use another deal where Austin is being inducted and hoping people buy the next night because he's sure to be at the event in some capacity. Same thing with the Rock the last two years now. Get real.

Vince actually liked having HBK retire and bringing him, he liked having HHH go against Undertaker a third time, he liked Undertaker going from "Undertaker" to "Mark, the guy who hugs people and breaks character"... Well, Vince is an idiot.

Vince McMahon said the success of Wrestlemania XXVIII this year compared to years past is due to better execution all the way around. He put over the year long build to John Cena vs. The Rock and said The Undertaker vs. Triple H was for the long-term fans. He said there was something for everyone.
Some more for you all to discuss.

I really think WWE can do it again next year or better with Rock/Brock, Taker/Cena and HHH/Punk (or any combo with those guys) if they put the massive promotion behind it like they did for this year.

That Taker/Cripple H looks better than it should because of the HIAC stipulation and them needing Michaels to keep it seeming unique. They know damn well that match wouldn't sell a Mania without a gimmick attached to it.

And next year should of been REAL EASY money if Lesnar hadn't lost against Cena. But now they gotta keep him strong no matter what from this point on to have that ultra Monster Heel aura with him whether he faces Taker or Rock.

HHH is beating Lesnar at SummerSlam, AthenaMark.

Have you ever seen HHH get his ass handed to him in a 'worked' injury angle, then have the match and not get his revenge and go over?

CM Punk vs Jericho was not a big draw and watching HHH lose to the Undertaker for the 3rd time at Mania wasn't going to make tons of casual fans buy the PPV. John Cena vs The Rock is the reason the PPV sold so well. I don't want to hear any nonsense about how everyone was an equal draw. I know people who don't even watch wrestling who order Wrestlmania 28 just to see The Rock vs John Cena. And don't even bring up Survivor Series 2011. That PPV had terrible promotion. Most casual fans didn't even know Rock was wrestling then. Cena vs Rock was promoted for a year. It was a dream match we all thought we would never see. Loads of people bought Mania just to see that match.
