Is the paid version ad free on ios?

The normal version has been ad ridden this week with pop ups to the App Store taking me away from the VS app which is really irritating.

Downloaded the app but still prefer using Google Chrome on my phone to use WF :draper2

Yeah, the ads are esp annoying as they are in actual threads, between members' posts, so its easy to make am mistake and accidentally click on one. :(

Is the paid APP available on Android? Didn't know there was a paid version. :eek:

It's a complete and utter waste of time. I don't know about anyone else, but I've not even got to click on an ad to get taken away from the VS app and be directed to some game on the app store, it just does it for me. Took me about 10 minutes to read the Smackdown spoilers this morning because LITERALLY every 5 seconds I was being redirected to a fucking Farmville download.

And if the app isn't sending me to the app store then it's constantly crashing everytime I click on something. It really isn't worth the hassle, have started just using Safari/Chrome to browse the forum.

Note to VS, I would download the ad if we premium users had no adverts, or were limited to only one advert per page, and weren't forced into Google Play or the App Store.

Also especially if premium members didn't have that incredibly frustrating instant tag line at the end of every post advertising the app too. :no:

Also, I mostly browse WF threads using the New Posts link on the top right, which doesn't appear on the app so.

That's exactly my problem, I like the apps neatness but these new ads are a joke. I can't even read a post without being redirected elsewhere.

Has anyone got any proof that the paid version on the App Store is ad free? I don't wanna buy it if it is not.

Hey guys,

There were a few questions and points made by you that I would like to clear up.

For all users curious about this the paid app is Ad free. Because it is AD free it does not have the app store redirect issue that the free app does have.

Because the app is separate form the forum and runs on a different ad network, there is no way for us to prevent Premium members who use the free app from seeing ads. Many free apps have ads on it to cover the cost of the app and is not limited to our app.

The Ad redirects that are occurring on the free versions of the app are also not limited to us. This is something that is happening on many apps. I have an Iphone 4s and I find the worse app for this (for me) is Facebook. We're looking into ways to prevent this from happening. Today we blocked gaming ads form the app and hope this will help with it. Trust me, we do not want this to happen on the app as much as you do. Its is a frustrating situation all around. :sad:

There is a thread located here about the issue already. We're asking for any information you can give us about the issue like:


  1. What app are you using (apple or android free or paid)
  2. are you suing a mobile browser?
  3. What page were you on when the redirect occurred
  4. what did it redirect to?
  5. Does this happen on any other app? If so, which app and what ad.
