I was on another wrestling site and everyone was saying that Velvet being on DWTS is stupid based on the fact that TNA isn't a nationally recognized company. They all thought she should be doing porn instead. I personally think this is a genius move by TNA to promote Velvet to be on the show next season. Here was my rebuttal to those naysayers. Comments? I would like to hear from actual wrestling fans and not those who are going to say "DO PORN DO PORN!!!!"


Here was my rebuttal to those earlier:
DWTS does suck but let’s be serious here… This is a genius move by TNA. I clicked on a link on another wresting forum website that took me to abc.com’s DWTS website that asked who should be the next sports star on the show and literally 90% of the votes were for Velvet Sky. I have heard who is on DWTS this season and they are all D-list at best. Velvet Sky would bring (be serious now) mystery to the show as most people who watch the show… (or husbands forced to watch that crap I should say) might take an interest in TNA as they don’t know who the hell she is. Big tits, superb ass, hot as hell, face it, guys would vote for her. Might be the smartest move TNA has ever made.

The Only wrestlers who have done it are Stacy Keibler and Chris Jericho who are very famous as wrestlers and as actress/singer.

Velvet Sky is nothing in the public eye, she appears for ten minutes a month on a show that loses in ratings to reruns of Storage Wars. This is one of those situations where wrestling fans have a completely warped perception of the mainstream awareness of pro wrestling. Velvet Sky might as well be a gas station attendant to Joe Public.

If TNA wants a Knockout on DWTS, they'd have a much better chance by using one who has name-value from their stint in WWE. Mickie James would surely be by far their best chance on their current roster. I'd watch Mickie on DWTS just to watch her ass jiggle as you struts across the dance floor.

Hell yes put her on there. Do you guys have any idea what kind of audience that show has? It's HUGE. FRIGGIN HUGE. The exposure Velvet Sky will get on that show, even if she is the first voted off (which I doubt), will be enough to get tons of people Googling her to find out who she is when the cast is announced, finding out she's on TNA, realizing TNA exists, and possibly watching an episode or two to see if it's any good.

The only catch here is that TNA would have to actually be good for several weeks in a row right after the cast announcement in order for the plan to work.

She may be a non-list celebrity, but so are half the people on there. If Jake friggin Pavelka can have 5 reality shows, Velvet Sky can have one. Plenty of nobodies go on there for the T&A value.

Would it serve them better to put up Mickie James as a candidate? Yeah probably. Does it matter? No. DWTS is going to either say "Yeah, we'll use a chick wrestler this season" or "Nah, we have enough other pretend celebrities to fill the roster this time, thanks for applying" and that will be that. TNA can put up whomever they choose for consideration and it won't matter a damn in terms of product placement, as long as whomever they put up is smoking hot and scantily clad.
