Recently, its come to my attention that when users are posting threads which contain polls, the thread will often go up while you're making the poll. So when someone goes to look at the thread, they'll be given the false impression that they've forgotten to put up an actual poll and look like a complete dumbass.

Is this common or am I just imagining it?

Yes.

Once you check the box to create a poll and then hit submit thread the thread goes up while you're setting up the poll.
