If you are wondering if The Undertaker is retired or about to announce his retirement then you are in the same boat as everyone in WWE.

“Undertaker: Last Ride” on the WWE Network seems to be building towards a big announcement where Taker will either announce that he has retired or he will move forward with at least one more match. Last week on Monday Night Raw, they showed AJ Styles backstage acting frustrated after watching a clip from the documentary. That would seem to indicate a potential rematch but Taker is keeping everything close to the vest.

I was told that everyone on the writing staff is being kept in the dark on Taker’s in-ring status, specifically because they don’t want leaks to get out.

“Whatever he is going to say will not be spoiled on the internet,” a WWE source said. “None of us know if he’s done. Other than his wife, I think the only person who would know would be Vince.”

While interviewing Taker last week for ESPN, Ariel Helwani tried to get an answer out of Taker but he refused to say if the final episode of “Last Ride” will include a retirement announcement.

Taker said the following when he was asked about retirement:

“Hey I love you brother, but I can’t give you that before episode two comes out…I’ve been retiring, personally, here when I’m at home, for at least six years. Every year I’ll come back and I’m all beat up and everything hurts the next day, and I’m like, ‘Man that’s it.’ And all I get from [Michelle McCool] is a big eye roll and she goes, ‘Until April comes around.’ She’s been pretty accurate so far.

I learned you never say never, but it’s very obvious that I have far more matches behind me than I do in front of me. Nobody beats father time.”

Chapter 3 of “Undertaker: Last Ride” airs this Sunday on the WWE Network.

He should do a ‘final countdown’ series of retirement matches like Antonio Inoki. If Undertaker announced that his retirement series would begin at Survivor Series 2020 (his 30th WWF anniversary) and end at Wrestlemania (with a final match and Hall of Fame induction), he could compete in a final 5 ‘dream matches’ where he wraps up any unfinished business that his character has and checks off any unfulfilled ambitions his character might have. Each match would have a big time feel as they count down towards his final battle.

Undertaker doesn’t know, his wife doesn’t know, Vince doesn’t know. Nobody knows when this guy is going to have his final match.

Personally I’d like to see the Fiend get the Universal Title again and lead to a match at Survivor Series against Undertaker ( Title vs Career) Undertaker loses and officially retires. I could see this happening, especially since this year their coincidentally in Texas at his 30’th anniversary.

I find the idea of AJ Styles being the Undertaker's last match to be laughable at best, not because of anything on AJ's part, but because he's turning 43 next month! There's zero professional reason to give AJ the rub at the tail end of his own career, when instead someone young and promising can be given that benefit.

Who would you suggest?

Survivor Series 2020, Kane vs. Taker one more time buried alive, Bray interferes at the end and buries them both in the same grave and both characters leave the universe forever in the same mound of dirt.

I dunno, something off the top of my head.
This is exactly how I would do it too, with either Aleister or Bray getting the honor of retiring them. Honestly I'd almost rather it be Black at this point, it would help him a lot and he's a great candidate for it. Won't be as impactful for Bray's career but either one is cool with me.

Taker is long overdue to retire but I do hope it's at Survivor Series with a good live crowd. He deserves that. At the end of the day who the fuck knows though, he might just continue to do Saudi shows and Mania but the above scenerio would be perfect in my book. Somebody NEEDS the rub of retiring Taker, Aleister Black would be perfect for it.
