As most of you know there is a Trivia Forum on this site. It was popular but it looks like it has fallen by the wayside. Nearly 2000 posts have been made there. Most of the questions get answered but verifying them by the poster in getting impossible as users are not checking. There was an un-written rule that if you got the question right you had 24 hours to post a question of you forfeit. Some users are busy and can't check but if you can't check other replies, don't post a question.
I just think the Trivia Thread needs an overhaul or just get rid of it. I know it is Modded and I don't want to step on anyone’s toes by making any changes so I'm putting it to the other users to visit the thread more often or we'll lose the Trivia Forum for good.

It's not the Sticky of the rules that is the problem. The problem is users answering questions, posting their own then never actually letting others know who is correct. There was a Trivia Challenge going for a while now that's died off. The user who started it hasn't been online for ages.

If the decision is to keep it, perhaps quiz's or something should be made and answering right equals points or something, just an idea boost triva spirit.

I always used to go into the Trivia forum until people just stopped answereing questions, and if they did answer it took like five days to do so. If there's a way to revive it and keep interest, then I think it should stay. If not it might be best to just get rind of it.

Well, I started a new thread (The Masturbatory Word Game) or something like that, hoping the immaturity of it would spark a lil interest. So far, nothing. But I do like the points idea that Cheif presented. I'm interested in new ways to gain points (cuz frankly, posting seems to take forever to rack'em up) and I've also come up with other ways to snag points. A couple for the Graphics forum, (getting paid for making people banners, and bi-weekly/monthly contest ideas...see the forum for that ) and I made a thread in the anything forum (it probably should've gone in here, but I figured since it deals with a a couple of topics I'd put it there) called "store points " about some other ideas I had on gaining points.

I saw the new Word Game and I can't see it lasting long.
A thread about slang terms for beating off? I'll pass. If you look back over the last 90 days or so in the games thread you'll see a heap of Word Game threads started by various users about all sorts of things and most have done nothing. There are 32 threads in there. As you can see only about 10 of them have been popular. If it catches on it catches on.
Keep posting and create threads and you'll get your point count up. I don't think they are active in Word Games and the Rants forums. I'm not too sure about Anything.

Yea, the anything forum does give you post/point counts. But I completely understand the legistics behind not having them active in Rants/Word Games considering those are mere spam forums. The only way I would expect points in the Word Games forum is if it was in a contest form (not acctual posts) sorta like the PPV Prediction tournaments go/went. And I'm right there with the next guy when it comes to spam. No matter how bad I'd like to accumulate points, I wouldn't want it happening in a way that encouraged that crap, because that takes away from the priviledge of attaining such items. You're supposed to earn'em...spamming shouldn't earn you anything but warning points.

As for the word game, I can't say I really expected it to catch on, but it was worth a shot. Just trying to keep an entertaining forum from going to the grave.

Yeah that's it. It's there so we may aa well use it. It's like the trivia thread. That's died in the ass. I'm trying to get it going again but I don't seem to be having any luck. There is a Mod for the Trivia Forum but I don't want to tread on his toes. Something needs to be done with it to keep it going. If you look at the stat page, the Wrestling Trivia thread is one of the most replied to threads on the boards.

Yea, I wouldn't wanna piss EvilSteve off either. But the only things I can suggest are PM'ing him and seeing if he's even interested in mod'ing the forum still. If he's not, or if he wouldn't mind, snag a spot in there and spruce it up some. That's if you'd want to do that. (I'm just assuming you would) Worse comes to worse, you can give it your best (and I'll help ya as much as I can) by just posting and trying to spark people's interests in it again. I'm gonna swing by there before I head off for the night and add where I can.

lol. Steve doesn't scare me. He was the Simpsons Trivia king but he's lost his crown. He's the allocated mod so I won't get in his way. There's not even a rules thread there anymore. I'll see how it all goes. There are plenty of questions there so get answering.
Make a new thread even.

Done and Done. I also got an idea for the trivia forum (cheesus rice, I've been gettin a lot of those today) but how about if no one responds about whether the answer is correct or not within 3 or 5 days, the last one to try and answer goes ahead and asks a new question. And if they fail to do so, it's fair game to the next person to get it going again. After all, the thing that probably killed off the interest there was inactivity, so implacing that rule would be beneficial. That, and if it were put into action, people would be more inclined to check back. (Could even enforce another rule where if you no-show 3 times in a month you get 5pts tacked onto your warning level...but that's a drastic measure which I'm sure'll be shot down) Just throwin'em out there though.
