Tough Enough is just a way to make aspiring up and comers look bad.

You would NEVER see the likes of The Rock, Undertaker, Kurt Angle or even Steve Austin himself being a participant because to be one you have to look like a stupid dolt with no spine.

Tough Enough doesn't even create memorable wrestlers and is a pitiful excuse for 'entertainment'.

The contestants look like they are pawns designed for humiliation and none of them actually resemble a unique, interesting character.

Now ask yourselves this:

Would ANY self respecting wrestler put themselves through this?

My answer is: No. They would work there way into the industry the old fashioned way. This is a sham and would harm a potential superstars' career rather than help it.

I don't agree with this at all. We've all seen how the WWE generally treats guys (with the exception of Punk) that come up through the indies so why wouldn't an individual try to break in with the company? Also, you can't use guys like that as an example because we have no idea what they would've done. I'm sure that a few of them would've wanted to take a shortcut rather than working through territories.

Finally, what about guys like The Miz and Morrison? They came up through Tough Enough and turned out just fine. Obviously there have been others that eventually made it into the company but those two have been the most successful.

M-Dogg 20's in it and he's worked the indys for about 10 years now. He's not getting any younger, he wants to advance himself in the business, he's got a reputation behind him, why not give the show a try?

Even if it goes badly for him, he's had free TV exposure and the chance to put himself out there. If it goes well and he gets a contract, he's got the chance to push on and impress the management in the same way he would if he got there any other way.

It's the opportunity of a lifetime to do this. Yeah there are guys like Daniel Bryan and CM Punk who worked through the independents to make it to where they are now but why bash someone for looking "stupid" for going after their dream?

You're using The Miz and Morrison as examples of greatness? lmfao. Says it all. The current WWE is a shambles and shows like this only prove it.
I never said anything about them being great because clearly they aren't at this stage of their career but we don't know what's going to happen with either of them. Miz has worked from being an absolute nothing to WWE champ in just a few years while JoMo has been knocking on the door of the main event for a while now. I'm not saying it's going to happen but 10 years from now they could be considered legends too.

Sorry, but Steve Austin, The Rock, Undertaker, Kane, Big Show, Kurt Angle... they were all good, memorable wrestlers within their first year in the WWE. And within 3 years in the business EACH was a certified legend.

If you haven't got that certain spark from your first year in the business, then it doesn't look too good. Miz, Cena, I don't care if they won the championship, it's all scripted anyway...

What matters is how you pull of a great character.

The current stars don't cut it.

This is by far the most unintelligent thread I think I have read on here yet. So your telling me the first time all the WWE superstars stepped in the ring they didnt look like fools? It might not have been on national television but im sure that they made a fool of themselves a time or 2. Might wanna wait until the show is over to say "Tough Enough doesn't even create memorable wrestlers and is a pitiful excuse for 'entertainment'." Because right now you have no clue how the show will end up. We could have the next Rock come out of tough enough. You never know.

do you really believe The Rock and Angle did things the old fashioned way? They signed WWE contracts RIGHT away and came up through them. You clearly are uninformed so I'll just ignore your comments.

Yes, because the ones like SCSA weren't wrestling at least 5 years prior their WWE run...personally I didn't count "Stunning" Steve Austin as a GREAT wrestler during his first year in WCW.

TE is just another way to get a place, and a contract, in WWE and imo an entertaining one. It fits its purpose now, it didn't have a place in the 90's...easy as that.

Steve Austin was a notoriously talented wrestler in his WCW and ECW days, he was used wrong (in WCW and when first in the WWF), but he was always top class.
