As noted earlier, Punishment Martinez finished up with Ring Of Honor on Saturday night after dropping the TV title to Jeff Cobb. His contract with ROH expired a few weeks ago and he opted not to sign a new deal so he could become a free agent.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has confirmed that Martinez, 36, is headed to WWE.
Martinez has been wrestling since 2014 and he began by training at the Monster Factory in New Jersey. His first appearance with Ring Of Honor was in 2015.
There is no word yet on when he will officially start with WWE but presumably, he will need to go through NXT before debuting on the main roster.
He could debut either at the next set of TV tapings or WWE might want to hold him off until NXT Takeover: Los Angeles in November.
