Hi. I want to made a list of top 25 biggest crowds in pro wrestling history. I know the first three, does anyone of you have some sources to complete the list ?

1. NJPW Collision in Korea 1995 - 1st day 190,000, 2nd 150,000.
2. WWF WrestleMania III - 90,000+
3. WWE WrestleMania 23 - 80,000+

Whats next ? I know that the last few WManias drew over 70,000 and some Tokyo Dome shows drew 60,000+ legit attendances and AWA/WCCW/WWC and Mexico shows from 80s and 90s drew over 30,000+ as well.

Yeah, Mania III was closer to 78,000...the 93k number the WWE gives is fake.

Summerslam 92' at Wembley had like 80,000 IIRC.

Mania 24 = 74,000

Mania 25 = 72,000

Mania VI had 65,000

The 97' Rumble had close to 60,000. Jim Cornette talks about it in his latest shoot interview.

I think Inoki's retirement show from New Japan drew legit sellout in the Tokyo Dome (70,000 people aprox.).

There's still TONS of shows with 50,000+ from different promotions though (AJW, AJPW, NOAH, FMW and specially New Japan).

Matt Farmer is a guy who does a lot research for this kind of stuff. I know Meltzer gets a lot of his information from the guy.

If I recall correctly, before WrestleMania X-7 (17, 2001) at Houston, the WWF were going on about how that event was going to break their attendance record, which would suggest that the reported figures for Wrestlemania III are incorrect.

Is it really fair to include the AJPW/WCW show in N.Korea? They drew 180000, but they were kinda 'forced' to show up by the regime.

NOAH never draws 50k plus people in their promotion history. Even their 2 Dome shows draws 30k something.
Dome shows:

NJPW "WRESTLE KINGDOM II IN TOKYO DOME", 04.01.2008: Tokyo Dome
27,000 Fans - No Vacancy
AJPW "2ND WRESTLE-1", 19.01.2003: Tokyo Dome: 45,371 Fans
NOAH "DEPARTURE 2004", 10.07.2004: Tokyo Dome: 58,000 Fans - Super No Vacancy
AJPW "KING'S ROAD NEW CENTURY 2001", 28.01.2001: Tokyo Dome: 58,700 Fans - No Vacancy
NOAH "DESTINY 2005", 18.07.2005: Tokyo Dome: 62,000 Fans -
NJPW "NJPW VS. UWF-I", 09.10.1995: Tokyo Dome: 67,000 Fans - Super No Vacancy Full House
NJPW "ANTONIO INOKI RETIREMENT SHOW", 04.04.1998: Tokyo Dome
70,000 Fans - Super No Vacancy Full House

Honestly, everyone and their grandma was willing to see Sting vs Hogan or Hogan vs Goldberg or even Goldberg vs Nash. Entire stadiums couldve been packed. It just felt like a waste

where is the source that the WM3 figure is fake?
Scroll down to where it covers Wrestlemania 3. Granted, that's not "concrete," but it's been proven already that they announced an inflated number and that "93,000+ wasn't the actual attendance figure" is an idea that is most definitely NOT conjecture.

one of those is definitely wrong.

it's been proven
really?

Supports 93k
Supports 78k

The second one says Meltzer is the source but doesn't quote him or give a link to anything so I'm alot less likely to believe that. Also the two articles have different numbers (75k and 78k) which make me think people are just making stuff up because some rumor got started.

one more link not supporting either side
from that link:
This figure, however, has been disputed on several occasions, as some speculate the actual attendance was about 78,000.
speculate /= proven

I know that "DESTINY" (with Kobashi vs Sasaki and the last Misawa vs Kawada match) drew more than 50,000. Not sure about DEPARTURE.
No it doesn't. Its normal for them to inflate the attendance numbers. You can watch the event yourself, it doesn't look even close to 50,000.

The Meltzer story is true. I remember reading it in the wrestling observer. Dave himself has confirmed it many times. He saw the actual receipt and it said 78,000. I'm inclined to believe that. It's pretty concrete unless Meltzer is just flat out lying, which I doubt. I'd like to know if the 83,000 in Wembly is real too.

I know they normally inflate numbers. Hell, they claimed that Destiny drew 62,000. I think it was Ditch who said they did 50k in 05' and I tend to believe that guy.
