It seems like TNA is just focusing on The Main event story line. About 75% of the show revolves around it. The main story line of Immortal is so so, but seriously does anything else happen on the ...the Team 3D thing is stupid, and then theres some dumb throw away match like Jay Lethal (who seems talented) vs some stupid ass gimick of a TV show who knocks people out with a boot? lol But seriously is TNA ever going to breed some home grown stars or are they just going to keep signing old WWF/ECW guys by working dates and throw them into a random main event plot?

pretty much, @ least WCW paid attentions to cruiserweights and had Goldbeg built up through other things as well before he messed with the NWO

As I pointed out in the last thread I made, the fundamental ethos behind the booking styles of Bischoff and Russo is that dramatic, soap opera, tension filled storylines are the overwhelmingly most important aspect of the product, far above that of everything else; the characters are merely devices to carry the plot. Bischoff and Russo don't feel as though protecting the characters' ability to draw and the audience's general regard of said characters position relative to other characters and the general canon as an actual issue if derailing their momentum will increase the viewership. Those two don't beleive in the importance of strong, consistent long term booking to establish guys and give them credibility which is why they generally like to feature older already established guys as a result.

Pretty much every other wrestling company in history aside from WCW were/are pretty much entirely character driven in contrast to TNA which is why storylines in most other promotions (WWE & Indy feds) are simple and don't require any particularly deep thought.

the wwe seems to be doing the samething with the nexus. they are definitley the main focus of raw and they have now made their presence felt on smackdown..so the nexus storyline is taking up alot of both wwe flag ship shows aswell. there are hardly any other feuds to care about. thankfully freddy prince jr is working with the wwe again and he can help develop some interesting stoylines. i guess when you have a storyline as hot as the nexus in wwe and immortal in tna, you just have to run with whats working and hope everything else falls into place.

TNA doesn't have a long term business plan. Never did. Never will. The company needs to make a concious effort to stop booking everything like its the 90's. No more backstage skits with authority figures, no more starting off Impact with a long ass promo, no 'struggle for power' story lines, no more authority figures being on every episode, etc.

TNA needs to TRULY move into the 21st century. TNA might have fooled some with Reaction, but its the same old shit on Impact.

1) Sign anybody who leaves the WWE and pay them a high salary, low date deal, especially if they are over 40 or have drug issues.

2) Have Vince Russo turn them heel at least 3 times over a two year period.

3) Keep giving Spike TV a 1.1 average every year.

The ultimate aim is to take an established heel, and shock the wrestling world by turning him heel.

It's gonna be like Bash At The Beach written by someone in the depths of meth withdrawal.

The Nexus is different from other wrestling stables in that it largely qualifies as a character in its own right. Nexus, unlike Immortal, is largely susceptable to the rulings of the RAW GM and Nexus isn't afforded the room to completely userp the general status quo for a large part. The majority of the characters actually aren't THAT concerned with stopping the Nexus in WWE and are more concerned with their own affairs and the Nexus storyline for a large part doesn't really doesn't try to expand its influence beyond the guys their directly feuding with; contrast that with Immortal storyline which permeates through the entire TNA broadcast regardless of who is currently being featured (well aside from anything involving the Shore or Tag Team Division anyway).

TNA doesn't even have a long-term business plan. With the combination of Daddy's Money and Spike TV, they throw anything around to see what works and if it doesn't, still keeps it around anyway.

I would rather have someone else running the show, someone who has a long-term business plan. Oh wait, they were offered one and Dixie rejected it because Vince Russo and co would be canned.
