When aew first came out, they were actually must-see tv. It was so refreshing to see competition. Tv-14 rating programming with edgy matches, more creative control for wrestlers. World class guys in America now. Then It died down for awhile, while on the another side, wwe gained huge momentum with the bloodline story, reigns, and the rest of the works, and they had it figured out but idk what is going on right now RAW and SD are absolutely trash, NXT feels like wwe hood edition (dont get me wrong they have top black talent, but why are they all the same stereotypical black characters?).. they are trying to hard to be trendy. John cena's retirement tour is a absolute joke, Rollins is still being shoved down our throats. Knight, kross, drew still getting shit end of stick. Im going back to watching highlights and tuning into AEW again cause wtf.

to be fair we are comparing it to the top entertainment company in the world. While im not justifying them in mid programming, I dont really hold them to same standard. Aew was hot garbage for awhile, but its definitely picked up recently. And several guys have returned recently.

i'm also ppv only

tbh, no show outside of rugby will get me to watch weekly television

i've turned into a youtube-only watcher

but the ppvs are a good time

You know what.. you should.. The Jurassic express got back together (Jungle Boy is no longer the scapegoat, whatever that gimmick is supposed to mean), the Bucks are still there, So is Moxley and Darby ...the only thing still missing is jericho making a return, and you have successfully not missed a thing from when they started... :)

AEW is nowhere near where it used to be, but I'd still rather watch it over trash WWE.

Actually, none of this went away. If anything, it improved by bringing in stronger talent, and getting rid of trash like Marko Stunt and Sonny Kiss.

What you seemed to be attracted by was the "newness" of it all. Kinda like how TKO and HHH taking over felt like a "new" WWE. I wasn't even a big fan of early AEW because the show was presented like a huge BTE wank fest with a weaker roster. While not perfect by any means, they've toned that shit down a lot.

Both shows have problems (especially on the creative side), but I vastly prefer AEW these days because there's more passion / soul / drive with those involved, and the in-ring is far more fast-paced / entertaining to watch. Watching WWE these days feels like the start of a Black Mirror episode.

I watched every Dynamite up until very recently. Now, I just watch clips and highlights here and there. The Death Riders still existing (AND adding a new member) and Hangman's World Title reign not hitting at all have finally made me tap out. But people should watch what they want.

I am african american in real life behind this Next Legacy profile and as a wrestling fan I have been complaining about the portrayal of black male talent on the roster for years. I am not talking about Samoans, I am talking about african american male talents who get the same gangster hood gimmicks all the time. Year after year when I watch WWE I have to see nothing but caucasian male talent getting a push as a top guy being world champion. John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre, CM Punk, and so forth.

One of the many reasons why I love AEW is because Tony Khan has been giving black men a platform to be seen as a top talent without looking like a joke acting stupid like R Truth or dancing around holding pancakes or whatever like New Day. I curiously want to see what kind of push HHH is gonna give Oba Femi and Trick Williams in the next four to five years.

I do not like WWE and I haven't been on the WWE wagon in the past 10 years or so.

The only time the WWE product was better than AEW was from Survivor Series 2023 - All In 2024. Obviously WWE has always been more successfully financially and has always been the bigger brand. However from just a viewer standpoint just watching both products AEW’s has been better for the most part.

I don’t find either side to be watchable right now. It’s very much TNA vs WWE where you had AJ Styles on one channel having an affair storyline and on the other you had Cole and The King feuding. Two bad products that you’re only watching because they somewhat resemble the wrestling genre.

Both WWE and AEW are dreadful, hell even TNA is having its worst couple of years.

There's no excuse for WWE though, they're the standard bearer, but they need to fire the guy in charge of creative. AEW is and always has been an indie promotion on a budget, which is why its always been garbage. It's no worse now than it was any other year, just smaller crowds because theres no hope it'll ever get better.

I switchen from wwe to aew when aew fiest started and really loved it for a year or 2. Then AEW got weaker and wwe got better with the bloodline story and I switchen back to wwe right before the first clash at the castle PLE. This year wwe feels kinda weak, but I am not sure if aew is really better at the moment. I did watch All Out last week and I have to say it was really good.

I haven’t watched AEW in over a year and was going to check it out tonight because I got nothing else to watch after the Yankees/Red Sox. Then I went into the dynamite thread on here and checked the match listing and the entire card features about 90% of the wrestlers I hate in AEW, so no return for me.

AEW became better than WWE by doing almost nothing.

Maybe creative got slightly better than the previous two years or so, but the same problems are still there. Matches and shows are too long, too many big kick outs, too many belts (and they just added more. YAY!)

But damn it...WWE is so bad right now that AEW looks refreshing by comparison.
