Jesus you can’t possibly be this bad. You completely missed my meaning of “Michaels-like contract” even though I made it a point to iterate what I meant with “limited dates”, stop talking thanks. Then you have the fucking nerve to call me a fan boy after the level of gotten to you put on display because you thought I was comparing the two talent wise or some shit fucking hell :lmao.

He didn't get a Michaels-eque contract though. You're just talking out your ass. You made a point to say what? That you're making up contract details? How exactly am I bad too? I presented you with all the reasons you are wrong. Michaels is able to get a contract like he did because he was one of Vince's boys and a much larger star. Not Rey. Fucking. Mysterio. Cheers.

I agree about him putting others over at this stage but a squash like that was ridiculous, He's not just some Lower Card jobber like No Way Jose, He has a little cred to his name even in 2019.

Bobby is slowly but surely being built to be a new threat to Seth and his championship there is no other reason to explain why.

Dude you literally did exactly what you accused me of doing; talked out of your ass with nonsensical fanboy logic. "HBK got a contract with limited dates because he earned it and he's Vince's "boy" herp derp, Rey Mysterio isn't shit herp derp." I said he wanted the Michaels style contract; the very same contract style Chris fucking Jericho and many others have received over the years, because he requested it during his WWE discussions, he pretty much confirmed it in interviews and everything. Even pre-WWE return he said he never wanted to work the full schedule again, the fuck did you think he only signed for two years for in the first place? Ya see how that works? When you speak facts via research vs "oh let me stan for HBK" shit that gets the discussion no where? Maybe comeback with some facts of your own instead jumping around like a clown with your stan hat on.

What? I don't care what Rey 'wanted'. He didn't get a Jericho or HBK-esque contract. HERP DERP DERP

Arguing with a wall right now enjoy your day.

There's no making some of you happy lol

Bobby barely wins, he's gotta look credible going into a big match. Rey is past his prime but is still a name and is there to put people over at this stage. Sorry Rey, come take this squash.

You gotta calm down, broski. His point was that Mysterio was after a semi-limited schedule LIKE Shawn Michaels. He never claimed Mysterio was as GOOD as Shawn or DESERVED the same treatment, just that he (probably) wanted it.

There's nothing wrong with wanting something you might not be entitled to. I just negotiated a higher rate on my independent contractor side gig because I felt I deserved to be the highest-paid worker there even though I'm new; if I hadn't got it, I wouldn't have been a piece of shit for asking for it.

If he negotiated for limited dates why is he not working limited dates? At what point does personal responsibility come in to play? You make it sound like he was perfectly happy working the indies, dodging WWE, and then somehow they forced him to re-sign. He chose to take the money and whenever WWE calls and tells him to work more dates than he's supposed to, he chooses to show up instead of telling Vince "no".

Rey is not a victim here.

That's where I got mixed up I guess. I understand someone wanting something. I asked for more money then I eventually settled on with my firm I'm at right now. Life is all about negotiation. I don't think Rey is a piece of shit at all! I don't know the guy. Just because I don't like him as a wrestler doesn't mean he is a piece of shit. He just signed a contract. If he didn't want to work all these days, and negotiation went nowhere, he should have done a lighter schedule on the indies to preserve his body and longetivity. I just can't have sympathy when guys sign a WWE contract knowing fully well how this company operates.

WWE didn’t give it to him? Why are you acting like that’s difficult to understand? He signed for two years because that’s all he could do, Christ. Like I said two years vs five years of full-time work is STILL full-time work. Clearly the definition of “compensation is being lost in this discussion. Yes Rey took the money, thinking he could do the two years and get out again and he probably regrets. WWE didn’t grant his request for limited dates knowing full well his health status and past injuries (under their employ I might add) and didn’t give a fuck to get the best out of him with what he could currently do. Both parties are at fault, but WWE with the knowledge on Rey’s health that they had could have and should have done better. Sorry you disagree about something simple like wrestler health oh well.

Because he said if they were negotiated, why weren't they given. Negotiated means they would be in his contract. He wouldn't be contractually obligated to do 'this amount of shows' per 'this amount of time' or however the hell their contracts are laid out. Lol @ trying to be the white knight with injuries too. Look at literally any sport/competition. Injuries are part of the business. WWE is actually better then most sports in that they'll still honor your contract if out for injury. Sorry you disagree with something as simple as common business practices.

Look man, I get where you’re mostly coming from and I’m the first person to laugh at people who sign with WWE expecting better roles outside of the money. But the fact remains that when it comes to part-timers like Rey they shouldn’t be doing full time work I don’t care if the deal was for a year, especially when they have a history of injuries. If there’s two things you should do in this situation you don’t give them titles and you don’t give them a full calendar year schedule that’s bullshit to them and the younger, healthier guys under contract. At least that’s my opinion.

The ONLY thing I found about limited dates for Rey was Meltzer saying what the 'WWE should do'. It sucks he got hurt, but the dude has always been a walking injury waiting to happen. Giving him a title was stupid and I don't understand that move still. Meltzer commented that WWE should use him sparingly. I don't know if Rey has been used on house shows in shit but what little I read told me it was now and then in 2 minute quick finish matches. You understand the WWE is signing a contract with the devil though and that really was my main point.

Endangering worker health is common business practices in most sports? Last time, I checked the NBA, NFL, etc don’t have their talent work injured so that’s false.

How is anyone endangered? WWE has protocol needed to pass in order to compete. They're notoriously overprotective with injuries! Rey is a small, fragile, old man. Shit happens.

Haven't watched in a while but I remember Michael Cole billing Rey as the greatest high flyer of all time. If that's how they really feel and if they REALLY wanted 205 live to be taken seriously, they should've sent Rey down there to help build some prestige with the show.

Who gives a damn of drew gulak and Tony neese practically kill each other in the ring if no one knows who they are? They should be sending names down there to make that title mean something.

OT: it really doesn't bother me if lashley destroyed Rey. Bobby should be steam rolling a lot of guys if he's gonna be around fill time

Honestly, both WWE and Rey are at fault here imo. WWE for knowing his injury history and still having him work more dates than he should, and on Rey for knowing full well what he was getting into when he re-signed. Rey had a good thing going on the indies tbh, should've just stayed there.

He's a legend who can still go but face facts, he gets injured all the time. You can't commit to a long term storyline with him.

They should transition him into a Titus O'Neil type role where he wrestles occasionally but is mostly a stable manager and overall brand ambassador.

A stable with Rey, Andrade and Zelina and a tag team would be great
