A while ago there was rumour that the two main title belts were going to be merged at Wrestlemania. So if that were to happen and the champs today were still champs at Mania would Edge v The Miz v The Rumble winner in a triple threat match at Mania to unify the titles be a credible Main Event ?

If they were ever going to unify the WWE/World titles, it would have be a major match, and The Miz does not cut it in terms of being included in such a match.
That said, this isnt going to happen anytime soon, regardless of rumors. It's wishful thinking. If it were to happen, Triple H, Orton, Undertaker, Jericho, Edge, Cena or Punk would have to involved with it in some way.
