I said on another forum that if WWE was able to create a moment where there was a shred of doubt on the streak ending, this match would be epic. This match was epic and for a PPV that was underwhelming, this epic match was overwhelming. The whole card wasn't worth $65, but HHH-Taker was. Just act like this was a big UFC event or boxing event where you paid for one match.

I didn't mark out or shit my pants. It was just HBK/Taker kick out of finishers fest, saw it already. Was the best moment of the night, but that doesn't say much for the night. The pace of that much was slow as hell, at least HBK could keep the upbeat tempo going.

It was an awesome sight to see but it's not the first time someone used the tombstone against Taker before, and it all ends the same way; with Taker kicking out. So yeah I marked the fuck out but fully expected Taker to kick out.

I think what made it work was the moment before that when Taker was desperately trying to fight on and HHH just looked at him sadly like he knew this was it. Which was exactly how HBK ended Flair's career.
