I guess Edge is officially a ’tweener at the moment? I notice WWE faces can do a lot of nasty stuff to other people and still be considered heroes, but I guess what he did to the car and to Paul Bearer was a bit beyond even that.

So my thought is that him being a tweener it always seems to turn his opponent face a bit as well. Kane was a demon heel as champion, now we are not sure any more (or I am not, at any rate). And look at del Rio: Can you still boo him as wholeheartedly as before last week, after seeing him in tears like that?
So I think to feud Edge in his current state means ending up being a face eventually. What do you think?

BTW, I think this is a good thing, storywise.

John Cena ended Batista's career, crushed Wade Barrett with 17 chairs and AA'd The Rock on RAW yet he's happy as larry.

IMO Edge is a face not tweener.

Edge never made much of a heel or face in my opinion. If he really fleshed out his Opportunist character, he would look out for himself and that's about it. That might draw boos, but if he were badass about it, it would get him over a la Orton before he was quite so babyface.

Off topic but I think between Edge, Christian, and Del Rio, Christian makes the best heel. Heels with a sense of humor that don't necessarily insult the crowd too much, usually get well over.

Edge is wrestling in a face style, he has a face ring entrance, and he's hyping the crowd in promos in a face style. He's a face.

The antics with Bearer and Del Rio don't affect that. Doing horrible things to heels has been a staple for faces since, at least, the attitude era.

I actually think that Del Rio is more over as a heel since Wrestlemania as now he has that bitterness about being made to look like a fool - rather than have everything go his own way. It makes him a more effective heel as the way he played it has made him *less* likeable. I thought his promo on the last Smackdown was one of his best and most nuanced. He's kind of channelling Jericho's last heel run a little (in a good way).

A great heel is someone who can lose all the time and still keep the crowd wanting to see him lose again next week. Del Rio is doing this well at the moment and I think that the people crying about him not having the title yet are missing the point a bit.

Right. I used to be an Orton mark before he turned complete face. Then I learned a lot more about wrestling, and now I find him to be lazy and spoiled as a person, and his character to be stale. I mean, he doesn't even have to do promos any more, and most of his matches consist of him being carried by someone until he uses the Diamond Cutt-I mean RKO. It's not even that cool of a move to me. You know who did that before you did, Randy? Karl Malone.

Addendum to that: conversely, a great face is someone who wins every week and still has the crowd wanting to seem him win next week. Edge is also doing this.

Edge is most definetely a face. But he seems to be playing a bit of a psychotic face due to the facial expressions he gives sometimes.

As for what he did to ADR's car, well let's see. ADR tried to break his arm, and put Christian out of action for months. Destorying ADR's car is not such a big deal, after what ADR did to them. it's just payback.
