Ok, first off, I just want to say that I know Kerry Von Erich had quite a career outside of the WWE, however for me personally, I'm only aware of him from his WWE career really as the Texas Tornado, which, when I first saw him, I actually really liked him, he seemed like that fan friendly guy, was athletic and I loved seeing him hammering those punches on people too within the ring, I also found it incredibly impressive that he only wrestled with a prosthetic foot, which I didn't find out until ages after, and for me, that was seriously impressive as you never would have known, so I have nothing but absolute respect and admiration for him there, big time.

Looking back now, I'm kinda 50/50 about him, in certain ways, however I was wondering what you guys thought to him in hindsight and also back then at the time, mainly during his WWE run I'm interested in hearing, however in general, I would love to hear too, as I know, alongside his brothers, he was quite a big deal in other territories too, specially in the NWA I believe.

So what are your thoughts, any general vibes in regards to him really I'd love to hear, favourite matches, feuds, his WWE run etc... just anything in general I'd love to hear some thoughts and vibes from you guys and look forward to seeing what you guys can contribute, as well as hearing your thoughts and vibes in regards to him :)

My thoughts on him? He has smoking hot daughter :D
But also he was my favourite Von Erich and I think he was the total package.
He had the look, he was very athletic and I think WWE dropped the ball with him.

WWE did not drop the ball with him. Kerry Von Erich did it to himself. Jsut face it, he was a druggie, with apparetly so many inner demons he chose to end his life leaving his youn kid behind. IMO a selfish prick.

Sure he had the body and the potential. But when he came to WWE it was apparent that he would only play the second fiddle to the Ultimate Warrior.

80% of the roster was on drugs or steroids.
Sure he had his demons but he was very talented, way more talented than Warrior.
WWE thought that he's not main event material-he could have been solid upper midcarder but they relegated him to the jobber status.
I also think that people who commit suicide are cowards and selfish but this was something different, I watched documentary about Von Erich family and it was very tragic story so I don't blame him that much as I should.

He was a shell of himself by the time he got to WWF.
He had the best look but was the worst wrestler out of the three main Von Erich brothers even in his prime.
I could go on and on about his pre-WWF career but I won't since that would be going off topic.
He came into the WWF and they hyped him up like a god without mentioning his family or personal history in this business, as was the practice of WWF at the time.
He had a good run against Mr. Perfect but frankly anyone of us would look like a million bucks in a match with Curt Hennig at that point in his career.
Kerry had a pretty good run as the IC champion and did little else afterward. When he left no one even knew he was gone.
The Von Erichs are probably the saddest story in the history of the industry and one of the saddest stories I've ever heard period.

Favourite memories are the program with Perfect. The Tornado punch was great and his right hands looked amazing. Million dollar look, shame he didn't go further in the big leagues.

I haven't seen too much of his pre wwf outside of his big title match with Flair.

ill leave alone your thoughts on Suicide, He did have inner demons the whole family did apparently. I wish his run would have been better in the wwf . But sadly it wasn't.

Quick Note: The end of Superclash III is extremely overlooked in terms of how garbage it was. Moving on.

Kerry Von Erich had a great look, he was athletic, popular, nothing to talk about vocally but he should've been a bigger star in the WWF. His personal issues ultimately hindered him as it did the rest of the Von Erich boys. I do like Kevin more (bare foot wonder!) but Kerry had a certain star quality to him. At least he got an IC title program with Mr. Perfect. I can't blame the WWF for him not getting any bigger, his downfall was of his own doing. Not too discredit how popular he was in the NWA/WCCW.

Only watched WWF at the time so was not aware of his time in WCCW. Loved every bit of his WWF run and would have loved to see him build up to challenge Warrior for the title, like Warrior did to Hogan.

I'm not one who cares about work rates and all that crap so I think their match would have been really enjoyable. I believe there was talk of him going to the WWF years earlier and I can't help but think that if he did go and develop his character a bit more then he could have taken the spot that Warrior did.

Yes, 80% did do steroids and/or drugs. BUT, first of all, there is a difference why people do drugs and do steroids. Also they have very different effects. Kerry probalby did both.

Secondly, there is a difference betwen taking drugs like say Hogan, Bret Hard did, on occasion compared to how Hawk, Kerry Von Erich, Jake Roberts, Scott Hall, Daveyboy Smith and to some extent Curt Hennig who over did drugs. They were all infamous and notorious for the usage of heavy drugs, and look what happened to most of them. Kerry was deep deep in to the usage of drugs. Just go read Flairs book, or Pipers, or look a shoots about him.
Sure it was tragic what happened to his family so I can understand he got more depressed and so. But still to blame WWE management that THEY dropped the ball with him is inaccurate. They were aware o his heavy usage and had suspended him.

I may be harsh regarding his death, but that is how I feel. Hae not seen the documentary though.
