It's probably all going to fall apart when Super Sheamus and Super Cena hit the ring at Summerslam, but it does look promising that the WWE is letting some of its heels show some actual balls.

Del Rio, Punk, Miz, even Ziggler to an extent are being allowed to look decent (give or take a weekly boot in the face in the case of Ziggler). Maybe the penny has finally dropped and creative realise that Cena needs some more believable opposition to keep people interested?

Outside of the AJ bit at the end, they arent booking Punk badly at all, and the other issues you raise have no relevance to how they are booked.

The talent has to do it on their own. I don't think the writers have any idea how to write for a heel. They all are the same. They whine, complain, and lose to the superhuman hero of whatever show they're on, whether that be Cena on Raw or Sheamus on Smackdown.

Jericho's not around for much longer though, if what people say about his contract is true (I've read on here that he doesn't have long left, though I personally know nothing about it).

I'm sure he'd be more than happy to put him over, and I don't see how a Y2J win would benefit either of them. Jericho could lose to a broomstick now and it wouldn't affect his legacy.

Punk will slowly be turned into generic coward heel and fed to Cena and Sheamus. As for the others you have stated, they always get destroyed by the big Babyfaces in matches.

To do it like that it would have to be a career match, and I can't really see one of them any time soon. They need to build that up a lot for it to be believable. But who knows, maybe this is the beginning of that build. He put Punk over, and maybe they asked him who he wanted to bow out to and he chose Ziggler.

Career matches are usually emotional affairs, and it would be especially so for me watching Jericho go out. Crikey, it'd be like watching Batman flying off with that bomb.

I was worried about that as well, but then they used Cena in the first loser role, so now I expect Ziggler to cash it in successfully. Either that or lose his cash in, turn face and then win it.
