With tonight's booking, I wouldn't be shocked if Seth won at SS. Not as confident as I was going into WM (when I virtually guaranteed it), but still wouldn't be shocked after tonight's booking. Not a guarantee, though. We shall see.

Seth's in a really interesting position right now.

This time last year people were BEGGING him to be the main guy on Raw. He wins the title at Mania, and after the feud with AJ he feuds with Corbin for months and then they botch the Becky stuff.

So surprise, the reactions aren't what they used to be right now. You combine that with some of the things he's said in interviews recently, going into Summeslam there's a good chance he'll be facing a very tepid reaction or at worst, getting booed.

I said months ago with AJ that he needed to change up his character, and he has. Now with Seth, if things keep going down this path, he might have to switch things up too.

He beat Corbin in the first round, then he beat both Styles and R Truth in the finals to be number one contender last night. Then he went out and beat Samoa Joe in a Arm Wrestling old classic video game. All of the matches were 2/3 falls. It was very entertaining and hell Becky was giving Rollins extra motivation. Could this be another sign of Seth being Seth Rollins 2 Belts after tomorrow night?

Thank fucking god for that. I didn't think I could handle another long Brock reign where we never see the title. Then again, Seth should never have lost it to begin with so things have been righted now :)

Now let's hope we get some good feuds going forward for him.

Not surprised. As I said, wasn't as confident as I was heading into WM, but thought it was at least 50/50 that Seth was winning tonight.

Helluva match, too. Definitely MOTN. I like how he had some boos at the start, and then won the fans over during the match. Good shit.

*Number of title wins in the OP updated.

Yeah I love that the win was clean, should shut those people up who complained about how he won at Mania.

I am currently rubbing it in the face of my friend who hates Seth lol, he thought that Seth cheated or had someone help him, so I gleefully got to tell him Seth did it on his own and didn't cheat and it was clean :D

I want to reiterate this, there has never been more pressure on Seth than there was tonight.

He had a cold build, a cold character, everyone against him for one reason or another. This had all the making of a disaster of a main event. And then he goes and has the performance of a lifetime.

That's when you know how good someone is. And I hope I never hear anyone again say "well his last reign was so bad." You try feuding with the goof they've made Corbin for the last 3 months and making that shit work. And I like Corbin, but that was destined to fail.

You're 1000% correct. As we got closer and closer to the show this weekend, I began thinking about this as well. Wondering if Seth would get booed out of the building or get light boos or whatever.

He definitely got some boos at the start of the match. Didn't get booed out of the building or anything like that, but definitely loud enough to be heard on TV.

There have been a number of wrestlers over the years/decades in WWE that were babyfaces in matches and got booed. And the majority of them were not able to win the fans back over in the middle of the match like Seth did tonight. And not only that, but he won those fans over in his opponent's home country, in a country that WWE doesn't wrestle in anywhere near as much as their home base of America.

I thought this match being in Brock's country was a horrible position to put your babyface in who was going for the title. But they put Seth in that tough position, and he delivered. He overcome the disadvantage and won those fans back over. Not every booed babyface has done that over the years. In fact, most of them haven't. But Seth did. Whether people like him or not, they can't deny that.

For people who like to claim no one has a connection to the fans these days, I thought was pretty damn good evidence that some do, and Seth absolutely does. That match, as TD Stinger said, easily could've gone the other way and ended up being a disaster from a crowd standpoint. But it didn't.

It's too bad other booed babyfaces haven't been able to do the same thing.

What a great weekend for pro wrestling. Seth back on top. GLOW is legitimately one of the best shows on television. Becky had a burner. Io Shirai is a god damned star. Adam Cole Bay Bay! That is all.

Seth Rollins winning back his Universal title is a pretty cool (late-) birthday present :)

Everything going against him, and Rollins goes out and has a performance of a lifetime.
Great match, Brock was amazing too. Hopefully they book him better on Raw now.

What a fucking match. Alvarez on WOR said he was extremely impressed with the match because before the match he was booed, and by the end of the match he was the cheered hero.

Fucking love it.

I barely post here anymore. But while I am here, I certainly hope to read some tears from other posters on this place.
