Mark Henry and Dave LeGreca of Busted Open on Sirius Radio love the way Seth was booked this week. Must-listen if you're a Seth fan:

:lmao

3 year ago today Rollins won the title from Reigns (due to the failed drug test). Time flies.

I like what they're doing with Seth recently.

And here's the thing, it's not just adding "edge". You can give edge to anyone, what matters if it makes sense.

Seth has to deal with a 300 lb. Gorilla named Brock Lesnar running around with that briefcase. And at any time, Seth could get cashed in on. So he should always be on edge. So when a guy like Corbin comes around and is going to have his own referee, Seth says enough of that shit and takes matters into his own hands.

People say "well, is that heelish?" And my response is it doesn't matter. Yes, he might have gone a little too far with Eric Young for example. He's doing what he has to to survive. And as long as he doesn't cross a line, he's golden.

As far as Sunday goes, I'm going with Bray as the special referee. Because why not?

Pretty much wall to wall hate for Seth on the main boards.

Top star confirmed.

TBH I am not enthused about this upcoming inevitable Seth & Becky storyline. WWE has already reduced Seth to being "Becky's boyfriend" - how many damn times did they say that last night?! It's lame that Seth basically needed Becky's help to retain the title. All that good work they did with the chair stuff from last week and Seth being badass and most of it got taken away at the PPV so WWE can parade their relationship on camera. Bah.

I ain't gonna hate on the power couple idea until I know exactly what it entails.

Continuing the Corbin just as a mix tag is fairly lame. But it could lead to other things aswell, such as Brock F-5ing Becky.
Yeah. The mix tag against Baron/Lacey doesn’t leave me too enthused. But at least it’s fresher than two more singles matches. But at least there’s the potential for fun stuff beyond that.

Well, Seth talked about Becky and the storyline on a podcast. Basically, if him and Becky are not comfortable about what they are given, then they are not doing it. Plus, from what he talked about, seems like a collaborative effort on both him and Becky.

And WF is just a horrific toxic hole, I just come to the Fan forums every once in a while.

Yeah. Basically said that when the E first pitched using the relationship in story, he and Becky brainstormed some scenarios and arrived at something they actually thought could be pretty cool to do, and that appears to be the whole role reversal part of it. He mentioned that when they were approached about an angle they were both apprehensive about how women have been portrayed in romantic angles. So I guess that’s really where the heavy emphasis on empowering Becky in the relationship comes from...and apparently Seth is really high on that part of the angle and seems to be really proud of her coming to save him and the reaction she received

As for the rest of the podcast, Seth is getting a ton of heat for his comments on Ambrose in particular. When it comes down to it, I hated his “took his ball and went home” comment. That just seems like a pretty clear mischaracterization of the Ambrose situation and was certainly not going to endear Seth to a lot of people.

But outside of that, a ton of the hate Seth is getting is also not fair. He made some comments that I think made sense given his position, and then he made other comments that seemed downright correct about how the company is portrayed. And he was also adamant about the live and respect he has for Mox. But one thing I think being missed is that it is undeniable that those comments were made out of genuine, earnest passion for the work that he and his peers do. The dude obviously cares about what he does and he is going to defend it. We can disagree with a lot of what he says about the overall state of the product, but I feel like everyone at least should respect his genuine passion and sensitivity about what he loves to do.

Unfortunately, that gets lost when you only read a minority of the Ambrose comments in quote form.

I like Seth, but he didn't do himself any favors with those Moxley comments. I think there are two main issues with what he said:

1. It's just inaccurate. The whole "he took his ball and went home," and I'll come back to this line in a minute, makes it seem like Ambrose just quit, but he didn't. He finished out his contract, he didn't walk out, he simply just didn't sign a new one because he saw other opportunities. Most jobs are like that. Plus he put a bunch of people over on the way out as well. He fulfilled his commitments to WWE in full. Also insinuating that he didn't work hard enough. Everyone knows what a workhorse Dean was in WWE, and he spent YEARS training, pitching ideas, going to Vince in person to talk to him, working with writers to try and make things work, and even trying to make stuff that they gave him to do work even though he thought it was dumb. Ambrose did everything that people say that you're supposed to do, and he didn't think it was getting him anywhere, it's that simple. It sounds like Seth didn't even listen to the whole podcast honestly.

Oh and Becky, his own GF, has openly taken shots at how stupid her booking has been this year. I mean she just did it again a few weeks ago.

2. It might help Seth's argument more if it didn't sound to many like he was reading from the exact same script that Vince and co have given their stars to read from in such situations for decades. Seriously there's so much "I've heard this all before" here that I have little doubt that it came form Vince and his cronies. For example, that "take your ball and go home" line is one that I've heard so much from people connected to WWE over the years, that it's obviously a line that Vince and co feed their performers to say.

Also it's kind of disappointing since Moxley went out of his way to put over his Shield brothers in his interviews. He didn't blame them for anything.

As for the Becky stuff, from what I've observed, most people like them as a couple. I constantly hear about how "cute" people find them or how "compatible" they sem. What people are more iffy about is their romance being a huge part of the show. Because:

-A lot of people felt like they were doing fine without it.
-WWE doesn't have a great track record recently of writing romance angles well.

Ok, this is the Seth we need on TV every week. Just sonned the fuck out of Osperay:

Turn him heel and let him write his own promos if they're gonna be like this. (He has no personality though according to some of the 'experts' here!11!!)

I really didn't like Seth's comments about Mox. It was weirdly worded cos in one sentence he was praising him saying how he gave his heart and soul to WWE, then he turned right around and made the "took his ball and went home" comment. He went from complimenting him to throwing him right under the bus. It's very strange.

While I don't agree with everything he said, if he's gonna be more outspoken, I'm all for it. He's still the most over guy on the show and that ain't changing. When people are doing well in life, they don't like it when those people shit on others. But I'm glad he doesn't care. It's about time someone in that soulless company shows some passion for the first time in years. Everyone else just seems like they show up, clock in, go through the motions, clock out, collect their paycheck and go home. That's how it's felt for years now within WWE. It's sad and pathetic from a once great company.

I do agree that he could have worded it differently but I see like this:

- Him and the roster have worked their asses off day in day out. But, still get all this criticism.
- people bring up his personal past.
- make fun of His leaked photos even though it’s consider revenge porn.
- make fun of his dick size
- call out his wrestling ability and call him overrated
- said he is the reason WWE ratings are in the toilet.

It’s a lot man.

There was still literally no reason for him to throw Mox of all people under the bus though, it's so weird. I thought they were supposed to be friends, Seth literally said only a few weeks ago that he loved Mox and they'd always be brothers, now he says he "took his ball and went home" and basically that he couldn't hack it in WWE. Talk about contradicting yourself.

I'm still supporting Seth and I'll always be a fan of his, I just wasn't too happy about what he said. Seth's been saying a lot of weird stuff lately, it does make me wonder if he's not coping with all that's going on or something.

He does seem to have sort of snapped slightly, as others have said I agree with most of what he said. WWE is getting a lot of criticism and he is just sticking up for the company that he and his friends work for to be honest it makes a change to read someone saying something even slightly positive.

As for this place it has become nothing more than toxic, everyday there 3-4 threads with the same people saying the same crap and it's just boring, you cant have a discussion about anything anymore with someone turning it into have a go at Seth. I cant even be bothered to read the other boards.

Wrestling is meant to be a bit of fun that you can just watch and not have to think about so that's what I'm going to do, not that I've posted much lately but other than this thread I think I'm done

I'm a fan of the guy, and no the ratings/attendance problems are not his fault. But he really isn't doing himself any favors with these comments, especially the Moxley ones. Even people I know who really like him are saying "he needs to tone it down a lot, it's not helping."

It doesn't help that his responses seem, disproportional to what the others originally said as well.
